Thanks for posting all those links, Lynette. Poor Anna - getting set on fire, hives etc. The whole production seems to have been beset with difficulties for one and all. Wonder what tales Hans has to tell (probably repressing it all ) So it has screened at Karlovy Vary, but nothing much seems to have made its way onto the internet in the way of reviews, reaction etc. Opens across Czech and Slovakia later this week Hmm. wonder if we will hear more then......

From the sound of this review, he's only in the first third. Ah well, better than not at all. Mind you, it wasn't a terribly positive review.

That preview is a soft one, I have seen the movie yesterday - fully naked Hans with his d**k hard on - you have plenty to look for dear fans!

Welcome, Jelena! What a lucky one you are to have seen it! Is he really only in the first third of the movie? I really can hardly wait until September to see the film in Hungary! See you often here!

I would rather say 1/2 than 1/3 of the film. He is there a lot but in the last part is said to be dead. I wonder why in Hungary so late as it is Hungarian co-production...?

Hi there, I am not sure if somebody from Slovakia was here already. Anyway I have seen the movie 2 days ago... just got here because I kind of became a fan of Hans - he was so gorgeous in the movie - liked his role very much.... I hope you will like the film... hmm I have some negative comments to it - but would not like to get into details of negative stuff. I like the story most - very different point of Bathory as we knew about her...kind of believe in it ...

Welcome Jelena and Branya. Good to hear someone's finally getting to see this movie. It's been such a long time coming, it's not surprising there are "some negatives". The Bathory official site has some articles posted, it would be great if someone could read them and let us know if there's anything of interest there, related to Hans or international release, particlarly this excerpt. Thanks Juraj Jakubisko se vrátil z USA 20. 6. 2008
Pøivezl Bathory v angliètinì a zveøejnil nový trailer a zábìry z Bathory
Juraj Jakubisko se minulý týden vrátil z mìsíèního pracovního pobytu v USA, kde míchal a dokonèoval anglický zvuk a anglickou verzi svého nového velkofilmu Bathory o legendì Èachtické paní.

Hi there, I will search in the evening for some details and news in Slovakia regarding Hans... or Bathory ...so I could keep you posting Translation: Juraj Jakubisko came back from USA 20. 6. 2008 Brought Bathory in english and launched new trailer with scenes from the Bathory. Juraj Jakubisko came back last week from USA, where he was working on sound finalisation of english version of the Bathory. Personaly was directing "postsynchrons" of Anna Friel, Vincent Regan and Hans Mathesonn with cooperation of the top Hollywood sound engineers from Oscar sound studio Widget. "We were meant to visit USA for shorter time, but local profesionality, amazing opportunities and wonderfull people, which we were working with persuade us to prolong our stay. For film makers is very valuable experience" - said J.J. Sound studio in which J.J. was mixing the sound for Bathory, was previously owned by Warner Bros. Sound expert of Bathory - Jon Johnson had a Oscar for sound effects from the movie U boat-571 (y.2000)

Thanks so much for that translation - and so prompt. Let's hope that Jakubisko's US visit leads to some kind of release for bathory - even if it's just DVD. Maybe it needs some sort of re-edit, remix. that's OK Here's another review www.praguepost.com/articles/2008/07/16/baroque-manson.php

Did the running time seem long to any of you who have seen it??
It's been one of the comments made that would be a difficulty in US release. I am afraid US audiences also seem to have a kind of two-faced hyprocrisy about male nudity as well. Maybe if he edits it down to 90 minutes -- but do you think that could be an improvement if done well or would it just amputation the vision of the film?
It certainly seems to have been a challenging to film to make, for everyone!
