Love the flyer, sounds promising that at least it's getting discussed.

WOW! Okay -- Bathory has been picked up by the Sherman Oakes CA, USA distribution company VISION FILMS. This has been an interesting week! Distribution deals are falling out of the sky apparently... I'm way behind, but let me find out more. I continue to be swamped until next week, but this is as much as I do know: screeners are available (a copy of the film for consideration, in this case, by buyers) but they are only available to FILM MARKETPLACE buyers only. You can't get a copy for individual viewing. They promise to take their films to a number of Market conferences (where distributors and indies go to get their films into theaters) -- particularly the AFM (American Film Market) which happens every year in November. They have a library of 500 features. You can see the promotional flyer here: visionfilms.net/posters/bathory_flyer_back.htmlThis really doesn't mean anything concrete, except that Bathory has a distribution company working for it in the USA for international distribution either theatrically or straight to DVD. But hey, it is something! Better something than nothing if.

I'm so excited: Bathory will be screened in the original English version at the 23. Fantasy Filmfest 18.08.-9.09.2009 in 7 German cities. Time tables will be released in August. I hope I can get a ticket for a city not too far away from me. There's only one problem: my holidays end August 24th, and then my boss will go on holiday for 3 weeks and I can't take a day off. If the screening is not at the weekend, I can't go.

Thanks for the info, Lynette.
I have been informed by a rep for #VMedia about Bathory's forthcoming release in January in Germany
Not sure how that fits in with the info Brooke provided above but just passing on a message! Further details as they come to hand.

I've been checking the website of MIG Filmgroup regularly since July, when I knew about them being the distributor. They have a list of forthcoming releases until January 15, 2010. Bathory is not listed yet. So you have real inside knowledge, virgil!
"The film comes out in January" - I'm not sure what that means: The film comes into the theatres or the DVD is released?

The song from Katarína Knechtová "Môj Bože", features and cast. It will be released 4/11/2009. Content - Blu-ray disc: material from behind the scenes filming, profiles and interviews with actors, with actresses, opinions of historians , unused trailers. In chapter Bathory find - a historical story of this legend, maps and family tree. Blu-ray disc has subtitles for the deaf. I did a lot of reading lately regarding Bathory and there it was, black on white: Erzsébet Báthory was born on August 7, 1560. Hans and the Blood Countess sharing their birthday.
