I did a lot of reading lately regarding Bathory and there it was, black on white: Erzsébet Báthory was born on August 7, 1560. Hans and the Blood Countess sharing their birthday. Yes Brooke. I found this information about 3 years ago. ;D I was quite shocked. I just hope that Hans is not a mass murderer as well.

Lynette, what interests me most of all - and I cannot find this information in your 2 posts - is what language options both DVD and Blu-Ray offer. With no original English soundtrack they will be useless for most of us.
And is the book that comes with the limited edition the same one from which we have seen your scans on HMOnline or is this a new edition?

Brooke, I think it is the same book, which was sold last year, I do not know anything that the market would have a different version. Press provides reliable information.
Blu-ray disc --- I forgot to write that there is a Czech and Slovak audio version (format DTS Master Audio 5.1) and the Czech and Slovak subtitles.
DVD ----- Czech and Slovak audio version (format DD 5.1) and the Czech and Slovak subtitles.
I know it's not English. But I wrote this for any other purpose. I think that other countries will content the same or very similar. It was only a extract, because of the potential buyers.

Today I found another press release by MIG Filmgroup and it answers my question in regard to the German Bathory release: the film comes into the theatres in January. This means 3x Hans on the big screen next year! Who would have thought such a thing possible. Though this also means still another long wait for the DVD. Such a shame, the Czech DVD/Blu-Ray has no English soundtrack. Think of all the potential buyers they lose by this stupid attitude.

I have been informed by a rep for #VMedia about Bathory's forthcoming release in January in Germany
posted October 22. - I was emailed by a rep from MIG so yes, inside information. Hopefully she will keep me further informed! I meant to clarify - cinematic release, not the DVD yet. The German cinematic release will be dubbed into German, as will the DVD. It's likely that there will be English facility on the DVD though not sure if it will be soundtrack or subtitles.

I checked MIG's last twenty DVD/Blu-ray releases and they always offered the original soundtrack and the German dubbed audio. So the odds are good.

I agree with Brooke, the lack of English subtitles is a big mistake. I hope that more will be some change...

Bathory has was acquired by MIG films for Germany, just a few days before the AFM (American Film Market)kicked off. Can one hope they are working on it there?

Not a reaction so much as a hope. If they. Were still peddling BATHORY. For German theatrical distribution in October then it makes me hope that perhaps the film is being represented at AFM.
