i have not seen the last episode yet,( in this moment i would like to live in UK or to have BBC.. ;D ;D ) hope to watch it tomorrow, but i´m agree with some things that Exam said, the first episode was so perfect and intense, here Hans did an amazing job and Gemma too, both are fantastic actors ,that is clear. But i don´t know why i don´t feel enough chemistry between Angel and Tess, maybe because of Angel seems more young or innocent than Tess.I suposse that´s his role , the role of a young man with a weak character and full of prejudices, at the beginning . Alec and Tess had done such a good couple together , i can´t wait to see it

I watched the episode at last!! , ohh, i loved it, the only that i didn´t like it was the final dispute between Alec and Tess , in the others versions of 1998 and 1979 was one of the most important parts or scenes of the movie, very intense and interesting ,but in that new version, the dispute is behind the door, that was a small disappointment , anyway i love this too, but the first episode was unforgettable

Yes that was disappointing that you only got a glimpse behind/ through the door (and what did we get a glimpse of ? ) Alec wasn't such a pleasant character this episode was he, the rotter? I was surprised, given I knew the story and wasn't that invested in Angel/Tess, that I had a little snivel at the end, when Liza Lu took Angel's hand. Eddie Redmayne quite redeemed himself this episode I thought Bring on the BAFTAs

Yes, i know what you mean . I really love this version and i think this is the best of all, but perhaps if they had made the scene of the final dispute between Alec and Tess more explicit it had been absolutely perfect.Justin Wadell was the actress who played Tess in 1998 and she was absolutely amazing in that scene fighting with Alec when Alec tells to her that his name was adopted by his family and he´s not D´urberville but Stokes, and when she discover all the lies that he told , etc.. the performance of this actress was brilliant, seriously, i recommend to watch that version too . Anyway Hans did an splendid work as always, he is getting better and better with every movie, he deserves to win an oscar or at least to be nominated someday ;D

Well, guess what the glimpse was... ;D It was pretty cool, shame that the scene took place behind a door! He just ran through the room, screaming to tess to calm down and the sheet (by the way the only thing he was wearing : went up and down somethimes... It's very sad that it's over, Tess, I really liked watching it on Sunday, it brightened up my week! X

Finally, I saw the whole epi.4! Therefore, it is very much depressed, I was completely mentally spread .. I almost cried at the end. The murder of Alec, the power is not really see .. This is a shame. It is a very crucial stage. Hans played a negative role other than as excellent and the other actors also played perfectly. A pleasant work too.

Sorry for my late uptake, i have been ill But am better now WOW, absolutely amazing! I loved epi 4, cried at the end of course, when angle was watching the flag go up. I love the way Hans had changed from the good preacher to the baddie again, (it was quite a turn on ) We only saw a lil' bit of flesh when she pulled the duvet away i was hoping maybe he'd step back, lol. I LOVED the velvety purple tie thingie he was wearing in the first scene. In a way its quite sweet how he doesnt like tess working at that farm and wants to take her away. I dont mean to be a trator, but i have to admit, Eddie played angel well in this epi. When are the next set of BAFTAs? lol Lydia xxx

Sleeperage? What's that and when did she say that? Is it a local saying or am i just an ignorant colonial?
Or is it Proboards curious attempts at censorship creating new words again?
EDIT * Oh! It is! sleeper! sleeperage! Insanity in 2008
And here was me thinking I'd learnt a quaint Dorset expression
Meanwhile, we await the release of the DVD. Anyone have any idea if there'll be any special features?
BTW I emailed the ABC here, who have no plans to be screening TESS at the moment. SO I guess we start an email campaign to raise their awareness. Of course, I'l have had the DVD long before it shows up here, if it does.
Any idea when/if it'll screen in the USA?

Its already out on DVD, isn't it? Oh, just looked up and it comes out the 27th of this month and has 2 discs =] So I'm guessing 3 eps on one disc and the last ep and special features on the 2nd, like they done with Jane Eyre =]
