Hi everyone My name’s Julia and I’m from Germany, however I’ve always been very fond of Great Britain and period films, so naturally a BBC miniseries about Elizabeth I would get my attention. Up until the 4th part everything was business as usual. And I was fully prepared to hate anyone who wasn’t Robert Dudley trying to win the queen’s affections. Alas I didn’t see this one coming! I literally went from shouting at my telly “You conniving little bastard!” to utter confusion to a thorough psychological analysis resulting in a full pardon of the Earl of Essex (Trust me, I’m a psychologist!) Anyway, I checked out the actor and was very surprised to find that I had in fact seen quite a few of his films without ever really taking notice of him (Mists of Avalon, Nero, Sherlock, Clash of the Titans, Tess of the D’Urbervilles), if you can believe it! So by now I’ve re-watched most of those films and am seriously concerned about my sanity, seeing that I am in my late 20s and show signs of temporary obsession and shameless misuse of the hyperactive (and oh so realistic) female imagination *g* In order to not spoil the fun of projecting ridiculous stuff onto poor Hans, I am resolved to not want to find out too much about the man behind the myth, let’s see how long I can keep it up and when curiosity will get the better of me So hi again, sorry for the rant & I shall enjoy this forum a lot I think

Hi Julia and welcome to the forum! ;D
I think you will fit in very nicely here. The BBC's The Virgin Queen is one of my favourite tv series that Hans has appeared in too.

it's glorious, isn't it? I'm still fascinated by how his hair did half the acting in this one though ( One of the last scenes, when he tries to get the villagers to fight with him? )

I think his hair did more acting in MISTS --- or even COTT!!! Extensions and wigs and dead animals (and pots) quite the list of head gear!

But whilst on the subject of Hans' hair, I thought it acted very well in both Tess and COTT.

The music was good I admit. The opening title music was performed by a group called Mediaeval Baebes.

I love the music that they sang on for The virgin queen soundtrack, and some of their music is really really nice. I was listening to the sample tracks on Amazon. At some point in the future I should buy some of their albums.

EDIT In saying I've never been able to find a copy of the V Q soundtrack, I've now just found two online! Typical I got mine off of itunes. If you ever check out the Mediaeval Baebes individual CDs I recommend WORLDES BLYSSE and MISTLETOE AND WINE. The latter is more of a holdiay/best of collection.
