OK so I'm really sad, monopolising the board etc but... Who's seen Troy? I went with fairly low expectations, expecting a cheesy special effects extravaganza rather than an authentic portrayal of history or adaptation of literature, so I wasn't disappointed. I was entertained all the way through which is unusual for these types of movies EG I thought Return of the King was way too long. Must admit some of the entertainment was not that planned by the makers ;DI did love the Legolas bit at the end And Brad did look fine though not sure about the hair styling Rose Byrne is one lucky Aussie. Eric Bana is getting a lot of love for this but - a bit too muscly for me (Do I prefer a more slender look? I wonder now) He just kept reminding me of Poita ( a character he played in a local comedy review show here a while back) so I couldn't take him seriously And Helen? Beautiful yes, but a charisma vacuum Sucked all the chemistry right out of poor Orlando. Are we worried if these things aren't really accurate but just entertainment for the masses?

actually I'm a little more worried that I feel I've seen more of Bad Pitts' ass, at least in silohette, than his mother did when she was changing his nappies...
I guess I have an advantage, as Eric Bana didn't remind me of anything from Aussie tv (as I've never seen it) and didn't even particularly notice his muscles next to Brad Pitts, that I think kind of upstaged his acting.
I agree on Helena.
Overall though I think it was the older, classic actors who really upstaged all the young bloods.
You think Homer is rolling over in his... well I suppose grave doesn't apply...
but I heard the young 12 year old next to me say what I was thinking; the fight choreography was so balletic, so well choreographed, so gracefully athletic, it really kind of lost it's credibility.

Saw Troy about two weeks ago. Had problems to focus, because my brother and my sister's girlfriend sat next to me and they made terrible jokes in every scene, that was not a fighting scene...
I thought, Eric Bana was quite good. Better than in HULK (don't ask me, why I watched that stupid movie. I don't know it myself...).
I really liked the costumes and the whole atmosphere in the movie.
I was disappointed by the way it was dubbed in German. Brad Pitt's voice sounded nearly like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I think the fight choreography was okay. I think it is typical for movies nowadays, for example in Matrix.

I saw Troy a while back. I had low expectations for it as well. I thought I would get bored by the time I was 30 minutes into the movie. But I quite enjoyed it.
I agree with Licentia on Eric Bana. Hulk.. I only saw it because one of my friends is obsessed with the show.
I actually really enjoyed the love scenes. I guess I'm finally starting to admit that I'm a fool for romance.
The fight scenes were good too. Overall, it was a fantastic movie.
