Karen Matheson; I've seen her cd in several Celtic music shops in Ireland... since she makes Celtic music and has the last name Matheson... is she related to Hans and Ado?

One for your research skills, Gg I can't specifically answer your question but I do know she was bought up in Oban and went to school with the other members of Capercaillie, and that her family used to sit aroound of an evening singing and playing the old songs. She has the most amazing voice (you can hear her on the soundtrack of te movie "Rob Roy") and Capercaillie are a celtic fusion group that combine modern instruments with traditional celtic melodies. I highly recommend their work. My favourite tracks are "Four Strong Walls" and "Waiting For The WHeel to Turn". They evoke the same nostalgia for the old ways as some of Ado's songs do.

Looks like Karen Matheson is in the same clan, but not directly related to Hans' family. Amazing voice though -- in the US you can find her in the world music/celtic music and occassionally in the New Age music category. I have "The Tree" and "Rithill Aill" in my car right now. She sings with Caperialle -- if I spelled that correctly, which we all know is a challenge in my own language!
