"Bathory" is in post -production. Principal photography finished in August though I believe it went over time ( and over budget) I read somewhere that the director was changing things right up till the last minute! I imagine that there will be ADR for Hans to do and its possible they would do some reshoots but basically he'd be finished with that one. According to this article, "An extended promo will screen at the American Film Market in November". Hopefully something else will be on the cards and we'll find out in due course. There's a movie about Mary Queen of Scots filming next year with Scarlett Johanson as Mary - be great if there was a role in that for Hans! |

I gathered that thy were trying to secure distribution etc in the American market.
I wouldn't have expected a trailer until next year some time but you never know. Some Franco Nero blog thing I stumbled on recently claimed the Slovak press will be sure to be mentioning every little thing, and they do seem to have given it good coverage so far, even if they haven't exactly had much about Hans

To be honest I'm not too fond of Scarlett for some reason... plus I don't think it would be a low-key project if she's in it. But any movie on Scottish history is perfect for Hans |

Well, as we know after Bathory comes the Tudors - but that's well and truly filmed so, what next? I guess he is on contract in case series two is hugely successful and there's a series three but what are the chances of that? Hopefully The Tudors will lead to exposure in the US market and thence to other things. We remain eternal optimists! Meanwhile, we are still waiting for Bathory  And, ealier in this thread, in fact in 2006, I mentioned the Mary Queen of Scots movie with Scarlett Johanson. THAT has been delayed too, filming starts "in the Spring of 2008" so they'll announce casyt soon. I guess this writers' strike has had a lot of projects on hold. But somehow I don't see Bathory being the role that really puts Hans on the map. |

Yeah, I thought about that too. What if series two is successful? What would be interesting to know is how important would be his role. How many episodes he will have. If there is a third series, will they want to have something to do with Thomas Cranmer again? I hope so. That would be great. And if Hans has a regular role in the series, maybe it will be good for his popularity. I know he doesn't especially want to be famous, but I still hope a lot of people will see, sooner or later, that he's a fantastic actor. Fortunately series one was very successful, let's hope series two will be too! I agree with you Virgil. Me neither I don't think Bathory will be particularly decisive. It's not awaited enough, a lot of countries haven't a distributor for the film yet.  |

I think Tudors series two would have to bottom out, ratings wise, to not continue until, well, at least Anne loses her head. It certainly is getting a lot of support. Original programming in general has had some real success, so I think the support will continue. How that translates to any one characters' screen time will be for us to see.
It'll also be interesting to see if Scarlett Johansen goes to Mary in the wake of The Other Bolelyn Girl
But the writers are back at work, and the Actors (SAG) are already talking about getting into meetings early to avoid any more problems, so the wheels are turning again!
