I feel a little bit frustrating. We haven´t heard of Hans for a long time...Not a single article or interview. Almost everything what is told about Bathory is considering Anna Friel... :-/I hope everything is going well with Hans. This silence is quite odd...What do you think?I certainly know his point of view what it comes with publicity, but anyway...

I think the same, Zirus. For example, Half Light was in cinemas a few months ago and a lot of articles about the movie only mentioned Demi Moore... Hans was mentioned too but only with a general profile about his life. I think because here (in Mexico) he is not very famous. And it's a pity... In my personal opinion, I think magazines only mention people like Demi Moore or Anna Friel because it's part of bussines and marketing.

I don't think it's odd at all - the silence is pretty typical, long term Hans fans are used to long periods where there is little information about what he's up to! Typically, there's a flurry of publicity when a movie is cast (main stars only unless is a big production). Then there is usually a bit when filming starts - a bit of press and if a big star is on board and there are location shots, there'll be some pap snaps. Then it's usually all quite in the post-production phase until all the big promotion starts. And that's true even for hollywood studio movies unless it's to be a cult type movie when there'll be blogs and sites set up by fans. it's not unusual for there to be things in the works that we don't know about and the timing of the whole production can vary a great deal. Thus we had "Doctor Zhivago and Deathwatch come out within a month of each other, then a long period of nothing until Nero and Comfortably Numb appeared in close succession. More recently we've seen Half Light and The Virgin Queen coming out within weeks even though one was filmed almost a year earlier. We just have to hope something is in the works. We're unlikely to see pap snaps - he's just not that big a star and I don't think he goes to those sorts of places much anyway. ETA because when you run a fan site for someone, you really should type their name correctly. Especially when its something as easy as, say, Hans)

I'm sure Gigi, who has been a fan since Bramwell can tell you of a time when an internet search for Hans returned perhaps 3 results, and the only "interview" that could be found from him was a one sentence response in a Les Miserables article. I came along right after Mists, and there was still extremely little information on him. We (Gigi, Virgil and I) used to speculate about what kind of person he might be...perhaps it was all acting and in real life he was an arrogant, superficial jerk! after all, how did we know for sure? Then finally more and more information, articles, interviews etc started coming in, and we started to relax. He appears to be the "real deal" Anyway, in comparison to a few years ago, his popularity and fame have increased by leaps by bounds.

I personally think this is typically Hans. It wouldn't surprise me if he avoided press! Which I think is a pitty, but nonetheless his choice is understandable and deserves respect. But I know what you mean, Zirus... it does seem awfully quiet at the moment. But I'm not a good judge because the other fansites I hang out at are Colin Farrell Fansite (with a new *censored* every week who claims she slept with him, which gets exhausting) and Ioan Gruffudd Online (who's one of the new faces of Burberry) and ofcourse they do have more than plenty of paparazzi pics and ado about nothing.
I can't pretend I'm not curious what he's doing now, but there's just no way of knowing and that's something I've learned to accept as being part of being a Hans-fan.
