Rest of the episodes arrived today - many thanks Gg. I've only had time to zoom through in search of certain scenes but did watch most of the final episode. Found the first on the disk (Ep 5?) a little slow so FF'd ahead. Agree about the last episode - even felt slightly moved and I'm not even invested in Anne Boleyn.

One question. As Anne prepares to meet her maker, someone is reciting the 23rd Psalm. To me it sounded a bit like it was Hans but his lips are not moving. Anyone agree?

Even an Irish co-production has gotten in on the X-rated action: The Tudors -- showing on TV3 in Ireland and on cable channel Showtime in the US -- takes "bodice-ripping" to a whole new level. Much of the IFTA-winning period drama's popularity lies behind its stellar cast; ably abetted by several home-grown actors. Big-name thesps like Hans Matheson, Sam Neill and Peter O'Toole are all on hand to bring the Tudor saga to life. Yet with Jonathan Rhys Meyers playing the randy king, British history has gotten the sexiest makeover ever. There have been many factual discrepancies in the script so far -- Henry was never the chiselled hunk that JRM is, for a start -- but lashings of red-hot sex scenes have made up for this minor quibble. In fact, rumours abound that many of the steamy, full-blown scenes where Henry makes the beast with two backs with his various ladies-in-waiting were toned down before they even hit the small screen. Either way, TV3 has a resounding ratings winner on its hands...historically accurate or not.

I'll be interested to go back and play that scene. It would make sense that it would be Cramner, even in voice over, wouldn't it... particularly, in the end, he is her only friend really.

Yes, we are still awaiting news as to whether or not Cranmer will be appearing in S3.

Strangely there seems to be no news of release of the Us R1 version of the DVD of Season 2 but in the UK, where The Tudors is presently screening on Friday nights on BBC2, the DVD will be available from October 13th. No info about extras.

Presumably, that's as soon as the last episode has screened, which seems to be the pattern - the DVD for Tess will be available from October 27th. Since it's apparently a four episoder, I'm guessing Tess will premiere end of September (Sunday 28th?) or early October.

So look for some publicity starting soonish - and hopefully some promotion for Bathory in Hungary should be happening We got some good material out of Hungary for Half LIght so;- you never know.

And, of course, after reading the article from last Sunday's Glasgow Sunday Mail, we now know that Hans will not be returning for Season Three. That's disappointing.

Anyone knows if Hans will be in season 3 ? i don´t know where i read that he finished his work in the tudors in season 2,if that is true it´s a shame , we will have to wait quite time to watch him again in a new movie.He makes one movie every year normally and his roles are not very extensive,i would love watch him in another tv series even if he had a small role .I hope the next year we can see him in a new principal character,that would be great

No season 3 of The Tudors for Hans. It is mentioned in a press piece sometime this Summer. You can find it on the website. It would have been a fast turn around from TESS to Dublin for Tudors.

Better that Hans did Tess than the Tudors ... both in the Tudors would have had a small role in Tess no!
I love Hans in Tess, I think that Tess also in terms of acting is better!

Yeah Manu, in the tudors he did a small role and in Tess his character is better, but i would love see him in any serie or movie , i don´t know which will be his next movie but the curiosity is killing me ;D

Manu if you haven't seen The Tudors, Hans is in Season 2 and it is available on the internet for purchase -- and he is a scene or two in every episode, usually wearing purple...

Don't worry, the series of the Tudors I have seen it all, first and the second series ... love Hans with a beard ...
I thought that Hans had a bigger role, but it does nothing ...
