I am currently living and working in Salzburg, Austria as an au-pair [until December] and whenever I go to town, the bus passes by this Hotel Sign which says "St Virgil" (since that is the name of the hotel) and it just makes me laugh everytime. I promise I'll try and get a picture of it, just thought I'd share that Virgil is a saint now ;D

Patron Saint of Webmistresses and Hans Fans?
Not exactly
He is a patron saint of children, and of birthing problems. He is usually shown in bishop’s garb with a model of Salzburg Cathedral at his feet; sometimes he carries a globe, or a dish of money (recalling how he personally paid the cathedral workers their wages). Often he is pictured together with St. Rupert, since both are patron saints of Salzburg.
Saint Virgil was born in Ireland about 700 A.D. He became well known in his early life for his exceptional ability as an astronomer and mathematician. In 747 A.D. Virgil was appointed to the Abbey of St Peter of Salzburg, Bavaria and in 767 A.D. became Bishop. From then until his death in 789, he was ever busy in building, first his cathedral, then other churches and religious houses throughout his vast territory, especially Carniola. He died on November 27'th, 789. He is the patron saint of the City of Salzburg, and the greatest figure in its early church history. He was canonized in 1233 by Pope Gregory IX.
Virgil was one of the first to argue that the world was round, knowing Science better than his contemporaries in Bavaria. His point of view that people lived on the opposite side of the world - antipodes - lead him into conflict with Boniface, who regarded this thinking as heretical. This lead to Virgil being reported to the Pope who accepted his explanation.
St. Virgil has two feast days — one with St. Rupert on September 24 (celebrated in Austria), and one by himself on November 27 (celebrated in Salzburg)
Yes folks, you learn all sorts of things here. Never let anyone tell you time here is time wasted ;D
And yes, i was on the winning team at last night's Quiz Night. I rule!
