Age in relation to nudity? And if so, in what kind of relation?

Moved this topic as I thought it ought to be discussed under general terms rather than a Hans-specific discussion I was under the impression that the main character in Equus- or the one played by Dr at any rate, is a teenager or boy-on-the-verge-of-manhood. So you'd think Hans at 31 would be a bit old for the part. However, I'm guessing here but I would suggest that it's frequently played on stage by actors quite a bit older than the actual character. It's quite common for 'older' actors to play the part of younger people (look at all those tenn dramas played by actors in their twenties) Many actors can play a wide range of ages even with their clothes on. And as last seen on screen (Virgin Queen) I think Hans could pass as the body of a young man - esp from a dsitance as one stage I did hear that this prod is 'theatre-in-the-round' Now if we discuss the topic as nudity and age, I guess the question could be At what age is nudity not a good idea. Is nudity only a good idea when it's a young, firm well built body we get to'enjoy'? What of the larger, saggier, wrinkly body? Anyone seen the movie "The Mother" with Daniel Craig and Anne Reid? I'm in awe of her boobs

A bit old for the part it is true - but I'm thinking even as written as a teenage boy (in the play and reality) he was still played initially by an adult. Plenty of college kids since as well, but I think he could pull off early twenties on stage at least. (Maybe not in hi-def, but hell, neither could a lot of true twenty-somethings).
But as to the nudity -- absolutely NOT on the "only pretty bodies" issue. I mean nudity should be regarded with as much artistic respect as anything other factor, seems to me, and whether it's Jeffrey Rush in "Shine" or Hans in "Comfortably Numb" the nudity itself is a tool that tells us loads about the character that has nothing to do with "beauty". Vulnerability, love, damage, freedom, are a lot more interesting uses of nudity than just titilation in your run of the mill horror flick. I'd rather see an emaciate victim cowering naked in the corner waiting for Raiph Feinnes' ritualistic rape in "Shindlers List" than some large-breasted blond taking a shower with a killer at the window...
SO really no age or beauty limit on the nudity thing. And the age thing is just an illusion and if the actor can pull it off -- well, there it is! Who cares about the reality of it -- good acting can make you forget, even if it's not a seemless illusion visually
