I loved that movie!
But you shouldn't be hard on yourself about being a bad film reviewer! Tellling us what did work for you is the best review you can give! For heaven's sake, film critics haven't found the cure for cancer or fed the hungry in Africa! And most film critics, in my opinion, spend more time throwing around the venimous power of their public attention, than doing what I feel is their job -- telling me, if you liked film A, you will like this film. Even if film A is a vapid action movie. Telling me the movies I do like are bad movies really doesn't do much more than make me feel judged. Nobody needs one more source for that purposeless feedback.

Last night my husband put in the soundtrack to "The Commitments". We were dancing and singing along and reminiscing about the movie. Forgot that I really loved this movie!

Has anyone else here seen the German film Sommersturm? I saw it a few months back and was just blown away with how beautiful it is ... like a Sigur Ros video clip, if you're familiar with them. So, so pretty. I've seen it. It's a pretty good movie. I'll just recommend some horror movies: Fritt vilt (Cold Prey) Ils (Them) El Orfanato (The Orphanage) Ils is one of my favorite horror movies. Unlike the Hollywood movies it's not filed with blood and gore, it sticks to the basics. The ending of El Orfanato is . And Fritt vilt's is good. I haven't seen the sequel yet.

Hello!! I hate all Almodovar's films!!. I don't understand why he is so famous because his films are so sad and he shows a non real vision of Spain However, the director of The Others (with Nicole Kidman) and Agora is one of my favorites. Did you see them??

Did you see them?? I understand you about Almodovar's films. Here is similar with a lot of Mexican Films because they only talk about violence and corruption, for example Amores Perros. Real life Mexico is not like the films. In my opinion, Almodovar's work is better when he is the producer of films. I loved El Espinazo del Diablo and My life without me, Almodovar's productions.

I love films. I started to watch a lot of movies when I was in highschool. I remember that I spent my hollydays watching a cultural channel because each night there was a different kind of films. I started to watch films from all around the world, some of that films were the "classic type". I watched some French films too and, of course, I was in love of Alain Delon, he he he he ;D One of my favorites classic films until now is "Death in Venice" (Morte a Venezia), an italian film by Luchino Visconti . I like it a lot. The end of the story is amazing when the siluet of the boy looks like a Greek statue with the sun. I love it! If someone wants to do a new version of this film, I think Ben Barnes is perfect for the boy!!

I'm from Argentina, so, in fact, all the Hans' movies are foreign to me, haha!! ;D No, seriously... I enjoyed this movies: La tigre e la neve/The tiger and the snow La vita è bella/Life is beautiful Caché (There is a joke with a dog that I repeated to my family my birthday... so funny!) Le placard/The closet Le couperet/The coorporation (Very scared and realistic!) Before the Rain Amen This aren't movies from countries like UK or USA, or with actors coming from there... Because of this I called them "foreign movies". P.D: I apologize ... I know that my English is not very good! So, maybe, what I wrote is not too easy to understand...

Just watched (500) Days of Summer this weekend. One word to describe it would be "quirky." A bit slow, but an amazing sound track - spread throughout many genres.

One of my favorite foreign films is Les Choristes (The Chorus). I remember watching that back in high school for chorus class along with Amadeus (which I'm kind of sick of actually). But I love the music and the filming of Les Choristes is just so beautiful. I would definitely recommend it for anyone that hasn't seen it. Other foreign/independent films I'd recommend are: -Dead Man -The Dreamers - Du er ikke alene (You Are Not Alone) -Another Country I'm sure there are others that I like but those are the only ones that come to mind off the top of my head,

I actually prefer independent/ non Hollywood films so almost all my DVDs are those type of films. I really like the "rawness", how nothing is censored and every movie does´nt in some magical way have a happy ending...Makes me sound like I only enjoy depressing movies but I´m sure you all get what I´m trying to say my fav.s would be: Beautiful Boxer Battle Royal Ma vie en Rose (My life in pink) Der Führers Elite (Before the Fall) The Rocky Horror Picture Show Mysterious Skin Mannen som elsket Yngve (The man who loved Yngve) Iluija (Mirage)
