I found the singer, his name is Thomas Matheson. cdbaby.com/cd/mathesonSinger Thomas Matheson is related to Hans? I thought he could be a cousin. But he lives in Canada. They are probably just a common surname. Perhaps everything ..

What are we supposed to be voting for? I've never heard of him.
During the clearnaces and the famines of Scotland and particularly the Highlands and Islands, a lot of Scots emigrated and Canada was a popular destination along with New Zealand.
There are a lot of Mathesons in Canada and many of them came from the same part of Scotland - it's not entirely unlikely that they are related somewhere back. In any case - it's in the blood so to speak; eiither genetically or culturally.
There's also a well-know Celtic singer called Karen Matheson. She's the lead singer for a group called Capercaillie. She has the most beautiful voice.I recommend Capercaillie to anyone who's interested in Celtic-influenced music - the group mix it up with traditional and rock-influenced music.
I have no idea if she is any relation to Hans.

I know Karen Matheson isn't a relation because somebody asked a couple years ago and we found out somehow that she wasn't. I have no idea about Thomas, but it is true -- there are a lot of Mathesons!
A couple of years ago there was also a Hans Matheson on iTunes or something (maybe napster?) that had an album of music called "Be the Sky" that seemed like it could be "our" Hans' music, but it wasn't either.

You ignore this vote. This is a mistake. Contribution to the discussion did not go to send / before /... Thomas certainly is not Han's cousin or relative .. Maybe distant relatives / as of 5 knee /. Hans never talked about relatives in Canada. He always said he has all the relatives in Scotland. They are true Scottish family .:-)) They have roots here. Hans would otherwise noted.

You know though you never can tell - Ado sings about Christina being "an old German's daughter" and about his people "sailing to Canada" in "Out on the Islands" so you never know!!

I don't think the lyrics are actually posted on the internet anywhere. Nothing I could find at least. Which song are you interested in particularly?
