I went to see Sherlock Holmes again today, dragged my cousin along after we'd been to see Valentine's Day and I have to say the first half an hour still bored me but the rest of the film was better than what I remembered. Would have enjoyed it that much more had everytime I tried to float away in Hans' screen time my cousin wasn't sitting there going 'How can you find him attractive, eurgh!' But all in all I can sort of see the hype now.

A video, less of behind the scenes of principle photography, as the music of Sherlock Holmes - with Hans Zimmer, Guy Ritchie, RDJr, and the musicians.
It's hilarious!
I was particularly fond of the beautiful asian woman playing violin in a cardboard box!
thanks!

I saw last weekend in February, a new film Sherlock Holmes, finally - I lived to see. What do I think? I liked the movie, it's popcorn movie, the main purpose for fun. RDjr. like Sherlock Holmes is curious, but he was good. The scenes between him and Dr. Watson are fun. Film is not stressful or boring, goes quickly. There's a lot of action. The filmmakers have created the perfect image of the Victorian period. I admired the film art site, in particular. I liked the costumes, music, the cast was perfect. I was surprised at the end credits, the filmmakers did a good job. The film was a terrible place, especially in the first part, second part was predictable. Mark Strong like Lord Blackwood haunt me, black magic is repulsive. MS is not very nice to me ...But his acting was convincing - a madman with maniakal expression on his face. Hans Matheson as Lord Coward - his role was simple and "flat" theatrically, at least to his talent. Lord Coward was a character that deserved a much larger place in the film. He was a rascal, who was playing on both sides. He was a fanatical supporter of Lord Blackwood. I was quite surprised that Hans aged too much. I think in life, not in the movie. He lost a young appearance, (boyish appearance) .. He looks now like a middle-aged man (it's a mature man, no "ear"). Thing which is somewhat surprising, in the film is missing some scenes from the trailer...

I have to disagree, I don't think Hans has lost his boyish appearance. It's all a matter of opinion, and I think we'd all agree he'll look good whatever age. But I think it's his personality that gives him that undeniable charm and I suppose boyish good looks. I mean no denying he has aged, he's only human but next to RDj he's a spring chicken as my grandad would put it.
Completely agree that the film didn't stretch Hans' talents enough in any way shape or form. I hope he goes back to doing the more independent films in the future, blockbusters just don't seem to suit him. Once again...just my opinion.

I've got to chime in here, that if you have ever seen any pictures of his father (and if you haven't, get yourself over to the site and take a gander) Hans has nothing to be concerned about in the aging department. I thought he looked suitably distinguished as Coward. After all -- it is about the character, however small, and that character wasn't meant to be a hottie.
This may be projection on my part, but it will be interersting to see what he makes of Ixas, afterall "Les Mis" wasn't perhaps a big studio blockbuster, but it also wasn't exactly operating on a indy budget. I think the verdict is still out. What I think would be lovely is if he could have a nice choice of larger films, those that get wide distribution both domestically and internationally, for all of us to enjoy, and enough of a choice for him that he can do those kind of films, with some level of choice and range, and make the kind of money that he can truly have a cushion and be able to foregoe the bigger films he doesn't want for smaller parts in indies he does. We're all getting older, and that 'cushion' is something I feel he deserves. Though, I don't feel like he really NEEDS it; he seems to be multitalented enough that if he never got another job in acting, he could plug himself into something else and be brilliant. But say he wanted to just pursue the music exclusively, even if that meant releasing it independently, at least to begin with. Wouldn't it be nice if all his hard work over the years, as an actor, provided enough of a nest egg that he could have the music without having to live in his car?! Not to mention what ever else he might want, or come to want, in his life.
Anyway, somehow doubt Coward will be in the sequel -- unless he links up with Moriarty somehow.

That would be good if he played in another sequel, but I doubt also ....
His father is certainly well-preserved man, but each of us has a biological clock set otherwise.
