I like the theory!
I've read the first draft (with revisions, still not sure how that got leaked) from March 2008 and the character doesn't even exist in that draft! (I'm right about that aren't I Virg?)
SO it will be exciting to see if you are right Cat!

Gg, I'm glad you like my theory. But you wait, it will probably be completely wrong.

OH WOW thanks for this it's great, I wonder what sort of character Lord Coward is I think he's a baddie My guess would be that maybe Lord Coward is a character with possible divided loyalties. An almost two faced sort of a character. Shady even, but we'll see! Isn't that almost Hans' specialty when it comes to characters?

Isn't that almost Hans' specialty when it comes to characters? Soul, yes, quite possibly. But I think there are several characters that Hans has played who are positive & are genuine. Characters such as Yuri, Marius, Luke and to some extent, Alec D. Although admittedly, it is possibly more interesting for an actor to play a bad guy, but it gets boring after a while if thats all the roles they take!

I've never really encountered a lot of those actually, most of the ones I've had any kind of contact with have been Mordred, Silver Johnny (who seemed a little mousy to me), Jake, Nero (though he wasn't exactly as bad as you might think, he's still a bit of a pain in the arse), Michael (Tube Tales) and of course there's Eddie....
The one that was a bit calmer and gentler was Tomas but the way I look at it, it's more interesting to see what an actor can do when he's playing the darker kinds of characters, they're more fun both to watch and to see what the actor can really do

There's a new "international trailer". www.filmofilia.com/2009/07/16/%E2%80%9Csherlock-holmes%E2%80%9D-international-trailer/It's very similar to the other one and doesn't seem to have any more "Hans' in it, just a different ending. There's a big presentation on Sherlock Holmes at the San Diego Comic Con next week so expect some more details on the movie after that. Of course, it'll focus on RDJ and JL and probably won't even mention Hans but we'll see. It's the start of the pubility and promotion anyway and that in itself is a change!

I finally saw a preview for this at the midnight screening of Harry Potter (WHICH ROCKS!) and somewhere in the middle of the thing I saw a brief glimpse of Hans and couldn't help but do that 'Hey I know that guy' to my girlfriend. She blinked and missed him...and we both agreed that on X-Mas we're gonna go see it.

It's actually kind of a good feeling, a movie Hans is in is going to be in a theater and getting some acknowledgement, although I know there's going to be a lot of complaints that it's nothing like the actual books (which I read and slept through through most of my childhood, it takes a different kind of world...or else an age difference to actually make it through those books, they're ok but...Hound of Baskervilles was murder on a 7th grader, I'll tell ya) and Holmes isn't right in the head (all of this is the pre-movie annoyance my mother has been feeding me now that she's seen the preview for it, she's hating it already but insisting on seeing it so she can hate it even more --I even got the 'hey isn't that the unattractive brit you like with the gun?' d**n her)
But I'm still excited for it.

What? Unattractive Brit with the gun?
