Wow, things have changed and may explain the sudden decrease in messages on the boards at IMDB.
I just went to post something and it asked me to "verify my account". OK. But I was very surprised to be asked my credit card or Amazon account details. I know this is to establish that you are a real person and to cut down on multiple accounts and frivilous and even malicious posts which have proliferated there over time. But wow! It's a movie messageboard. It's not worth that level of privacy invasion just to discuss movies, actors etc
My guess is that people will take themselves elsewhere.
