Thanks everyone. It is ouch but I'm mindful of those who live with constant pain and permanent disability.

Have lots of help so far - novelty may wear off soon.

I go in for proper repairs - pins or plates or something next week.

Of course everyone says " How much had you been drinking?" But of course, then i wouldn't have hurt myself at all.

Thanks for the good wishes, folks. Things are progressing as expected - ie slowly; there's no hurrying these things.

it is indeed frustrating - but it's amazing what you can do with one hand - and amazing the things you can't. At least now it's mechanical issues halting the use of the right hand (ie the plaster) rather than pain. Might be another matter when the plaster comes off and the poor atrophied muscles and tendons have to get back to work.

Hope everyone is taking good care of themselves and eating lots of calcium - rich foods (Who needs an excuse for icecream?)

edit because .. who knew dyslexia was one of the side effects?

A small update - plaster is off and now have the OK to cut back on wearing the thermoplastic wrist splint that came after the plaster.

Trouble is, after seven weeks of having the joint immobilised, I now have to get it working again - still very stiff and still a bit swollen , very weak and still lots of therapy etc.

But we're getting there; just as well as things will probably hot up soon in anticipation of Sherloch Holmes and then Clash of The Titans.

Hope to do a bit of updating and maintenance soon. Thanks for being so patient with me.

I did that to about 4 years ago had to have an operation to put two pins in, then phisyiotherapy to get things,moving again after the palster comes off in, mine was the right wrist as well a bit of a pain, doing things but it will come good in the end.
