Guys, today I found this thread at the forum... I believe it's not a coincidence most of the books on our shelves are historical fiction. This is the Hanstorical Matheson forum ;D Reading is my passion and I got several shelves at home, but I will make a compendium of the most representative on every subject I like to read. 1.- Poetry: The Captain Verses by Pablo Neruda. 2.- Historical Novel: Mary, called Magdalene, by Margaret George. 3.- Shamanism: The teachings of Don Juan, by Carlos Castaneda. 4.- Creative Writing: Story, by Robert McKee 5.- Short Stories by Jorge Luis Borges. 6.- Novel: The Dalkey Archive, by Flann O'Brien 7.- Esoteric: Tarot: a way of self-knowledge by Karen Hamaker-Zondag 8.- Plays by Moliere. 9.- The celtic dream, by Mario Vargas Llosa. 10.- The Prague cemetery, by Umberto Eco, which I'm reading now ;D "The Prague cemetery", by Umberto Eco, About what this book is? I'm from the Czech Republic, I wonder why. Esoteric: Tarot: a way of self-knowledge by Karen Hamaker-Zondag - This book is quality? I have at home a lot of books about the tarot, but this one is missing.

"The Prague cemetery", by Umberto Eco, About what this book is? I'm from the Czech Republic, I wonder why. Esoteric: Tarot: a way of self-knowledge by Karen Hamaker-Zondag - This book is quality? I have at home a lot of books about the tarot, but this one is missing. The book by Hamaker-Zondag focuses on the Raider-Waite deck of cards, but relates them to I-Ching meaning, as well as to Jungian psychology. She is a psychotherapist and uses Tarot as a tool for treatment. This book made me understand the cards to a deeper level. And "The cemetery of Prague" I'm still at page 24 ;D but it's becoming more and more interesting. "It is the story of a secret agent who weaves plots, conspiracies, intrigues and attacks, and helps determine the historical and political fate of the Continent,” according to his publisher. By the way Lynette, I was in Prague in 1995, what a beautiful, surreal, romantic city. There I had my first shot of absinthe Loved the puppets, the beer and a small theatre named "Labyrinth" with stoned walls! -correction: stone walls! (I'm chuckling to myself) ;D ;D

I LOVED THE NAME OF THE ROSE. (by Umberto Eco), speaking of him! Read if you haven't... or see the film adaptation starring Sean Connery. Not bad. So long you enjoy bleak, Inquisition era, religious intrigue! Which Moliere' is your favorite?!

Lynette... I wrongly assumed you live in the capital of Czech Republic. In which city/town do you live? I adore the whole Czech country. So full of rivers and beautiful spaces By the way, I've read the very thorough astrological charts you've done to Hans Matheson. Do you read the Tarot too?

I was fond of "The Imaginary Invalid" Les Malade imaginaire ,... probably because of the gypsy girls. (that's a joke). I also like "The Learned Ladies" Les Femmes Savantes, because it resonates with me (my parents are Uni profs...I am decidedly NOT). And yes, I know I've probably massacred the French. Moliere is one of those playwrights we were rushed through, play after play, wizbamboom, read/analyze/scene-study/stage, and I've always resented not being able to take him at my own pace.

I live in a small town in western Bohemia. The city is named Horšovský Týn. I was born but in town named Domažlice, it is the capital town of the West Bohemian folklore. I have relatives in Prague only. Tarot is my hobby. I am dedicated to this hobby about four years. I have several books at home, and yesterday I ordered another book about the tarot, which has the extra set of Tarot. I have home two sets of tarot yet.

Gg, Oh yeah, Moliere is so much fun! ;D although playing it in college sometimes is like the grown up version of dressing up with grandma wigs! he he I was a college professor for 10 years, one of the tribe, I know what you mean but life out there in the real world is better, more exciting

My favorite set is the Rider-Waite Tarot, I love its symbols, figures and drawings... though I know there are others... what is yours, Lynette?

Oh lord, make no mistake, I could never be a teacher! EVER!!! I barely survived being two Uni Professors' daughter. What did you teach for ten years!? Writing? I would love to learn more about you, if you'd be willing to post on the "tell us more about you" thread! Bookshelf selections aside. You know, you are in good company on this board where teachers are concerned! And writers for that matter (check your PMs, there's something about Mexico and artists; haven't figured it out yet).
I'm obnoxiously proud of our forum members, if that's not obvious...
I wish I could've enjoyed Moliere' more, actually. If I have opportunity to revisit him now, I will, but Wilde is far more likely. My script right now is quite the polar opposite... (I'm still midst my 'playing'...not very mature, I know)

I have two sets of Tarot cards at home, not very well known - they are called Tarot cards of Renata Herber , by the way, they are very beautifully illustrated, with beautiful clear descriptions. My first Tarot cards named Tarot cards of Giovanni Caselli. They are also very beautiful, with original pictures by the old tarot of tarot cards.

Mark Frost - The List of Seven 3. Connie Willis - Doomsday Book 4. Monica Ali - Brick Lane 5. Peter Hoeg - Fräulein Smillas Gespür für Schnee 6.
