Has anyone else got into this trilogy of three novels by the late Swedish author, Stieg Larsson- Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Girl Who Played With Fire and Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest and the movies based on them.
I got quite hooked recently - thought the movie was quite a good adaptation and thankfully they toned down a souple of the more brutal scenes. They seemed to include a few scenes from the second book into the first movie and I gather the second is a made-for TV series version which they hastily cobbled together and released as a movie after the success of the first. It isn't released here yet.
The actress who played Lisbeth was well cast and did a great job. They are in the process of making an English language version with Daniel Craig as Blomquist. I hope they retain the Swedish setting. I read it with map by my side - brought back memories as I stayed in Sodermalm when I was in Stockholm - gosh, is it really five years ago?
ANyway, recommended. Probably not a classic but certainly a page-turner.

I wish they'd leave the film alone -- it's perfect as it is and there's really no need to make an English language version, we can see the divine original version will no real problem in the US.

My Dad just popped the 1st 2 books in the mail for me on Thursday. Can't wait to start reading. I've heard they are page turners. He said that he stayed up 1/2 the night reading the first book. Had to take a nap the next day. Yet another reason to procrastinate on reorganizing the house!

I saw the movie a weeks ago, it's a great adaptation of the first book of the trilogy. I read a while ago about the films. I read they were filmed at the same time and it's posible to see the second and the last movie as a TV series because the producers didn't want to cut parts and characters from the books. I guess it's a good idea. If you can, try to read the books firts, you will love them!

I saw the first film back in theatres and then read the book adaptation of it. Omg, so good. While I was reading it my dad wanted to read it as well.
Recently I saw the second film which I think I enjoyed more than the first because the content was less on the disturbing side and more on the mysterious past side which I enjoyed. I'm excited to see the third one too. I don't know how I feel about the American translated version though...I think I'll stick to the Swedish versions and keep reading the series.
