My heart goes out to all Queenslanders. Having just experienced major flooding, including the inundation and evacuation of Brisbane, Australia's third largest city. and flooding over an area larger than France and Germany, now the rest of the state is battening down for Cyclone Yasi which is said to be bigger than Hurricane Katrina. Huge sea surges and horrendous winds are expected to last for about 12 hours. Terrifying. 660kms wide, WInds 50km/hr fasteer than Katrina - worst in our history, more so than Tracy, which annihilated Darwin
Of course there's awful floods in Brazil and Pakistan. Don't tell me global warming isn't stuffing up out planet
One person I wouldn't want to be right now is Anna Bligh, premier of Queensland - poor lady probably hasn't slept since mid December. You can see the strain increase with each news session.
Just venting - feel free to carry on with your own nations problems

I sympathize with you and I pray for all people affected by a disaster. I hope that the situation will calm down.

My prayers go to Australia and its affected areas. A beautiful country, suffering that much! Well, what can I say of Mexico. Going out to the streets everyday, hoping a Narco bullet doesn't cross my path for mistake! A challenge to live like that, but it's a good way to exercise resilience and inner strenght...

I've only seen one image in the British newspapers regarding the damage that Yasi has done, and that was of a load of yachts which had all smashed into one another. I really hope that there has been no loss of life because of this hurricane.
