Dear forum friends:
I've noticed that Hans biographical article on wikipedia does not have a photo -being him so handsome that's a pity- and it is lacking some sources and citations... should we do something about it??

Hans' bio on Wikipedia is open to all in terms of what is written about him and what is provided for the sources and citations.
In terms of there not being a photo of him, I do believe that Wikipedia now requires all images / photos to be copyrighted images uploaded by the photographer themselves. Just sticking any random image of Hans, (taken by another photographer), on his Wiki bio is not acceptable.

I remember when (I think it was Robin?) posted the description on Wikipedia. It felt wrong to edit it then, but maybe it should be now. It's been altered and vastly shortened in the meantime, but that wasn't my work. It's not much more than a relatively list of an occasionally mis-categorized filmography, which could be more interestingly written and better referenced, but there's nothing woefully inaccurate about it, and there are other sources on the web for cross reference  . Don't know a thing about the photo issue! I think most people know that Wikipedia is often contributed to by fans/laypeople, where celebrities are concerned, just as most fan sites are. It's a lovely way for someone to pay tribute. She (our Robin i.e. Temporary One) left this disclaimer on the discussion tab "I myself typed this bio, I prefer to update his information, I freely contribute his page to Wikipedia. -TemporaryOne" Last update was February 2011, but I don't know if that was Robin, or if she lurks here anymore. |

Gg, it's easy to check who edits a Wikipedia page. Just click on the 'view history' tab on the top right hand side of the page.

The wikipedia information on Hans is VERY extensive, detailed and accurate. However, I believe there's a new link added at the top of the page (from pbs.org) that perhaps belongs to the bottom, where the other links are. I don't know how to edit wikipedia, that's why I sent the "alert" on this (I should have explained my point better, sorry if it felt rude to the Hans fan who did the great job of uploading his wiki info)  Kisses to all. |

my GOD Cat, the edit list is long and I can't figure out much of what they've done. It's shorter than it once was, and of course the last two films were added. I don't know, guys, is there a point in my editing it? If I can figure out how to add a picture that would make sense.

That's www.hansmatheson.org/It goes without saying this is the best resource for Hans news and info. I have noticed that there is no mention of this site on Hans IMDb profile site. I think it's time that should change. |

Thanks Gg. I don't look at IMDb all that much, but for the times when I have, there has never been any mention of this site on the Hans message board there. But now I know that there is an external link which is good.

Aw guys, no worries. There is nothing to take offense to. Virg has been hard at work for a long, long time as the reigning queen of the Hansdom universe and she brings everything back home to HMO, a home she created after all. Let's back each other up here and assume the best of each other. Sweet Virgil created both the website and the forum long ago and has been dedicated to it, and to us. She, as ever, wants only the best for this little community of ours. Truly. Her efforts on our behalf have been legendary. Sincerely. I know nothing rude was intended and we are just getting use to each other. She's proud of Hans Matheson Online and she has reason to be. Best source of Matheson Mania on the web. That's all she's saying. Communication, as ever a challenge, when you are talking amongst the rainbow of nationalities that are the Hans Matheson fandom. Kiss and make up, would you?! I've done far worse and not that long ago.

Isis, I don't think Virgil meant for her post to come across as being rude. I think her "people bemoaning" comment was just a general observation rather than an absolute criticism.
As Gg mentioned, Virgil created everything that you see and enjoy here, both on the site and the forum, and has worked on it constantly since then. It isn't difficult to take offense to something when possibly we don't get or understand the context in which it was written.
