Haven´t watched the Oscar show yet but heard that Colin Firth won an award for The Kings Speech. Totally deserved if you ask me, he was wonderful in that movie! I think they´ll show a rerun of the Oscars in my country during the weekend (they did show it live, in the middle of the night...) or something so ll be sure to catch that

I haven't seen either of them aswell. Like Janni I have heard that Colin Firth and The King's Speech did very well at the Oscars.

I watched the Oscars with my suitemates this past Sunday. I was neutral for most of it but competitive when it came to movies I liked or had seen. I admit I hadn't seen many of the choices this year but REALLY want to see The King's Speech now. One of my suitemates is a HUGE Colin Firth fan so she was ecstatic when he won for Best Actor. I was pretty happy with that choice as well, Though I heard a lot of people were not pleased that The King's Speech won for Best Director because the actors were so good that they didn't need much direction. One of my friends was hoping Black Swan won for Best Director but then again, Inception wasn't even nominated for that category which I thought was unfair.

wow Inception was´nt even nominated? that IS unfair And yeah the actors in the King´s Speech probably did´nt need much direction so that award should have gone to someone else...

Mark Rylance of Jezz Butterworth's JERSULEM best actor in a play TONY. Crazy funny acceptance speech where he described his experience with walking through walls. SERIOUSLY.
and Neil Patrick Harris' SLAM POETRY wrap-up was pretty impressive (the last bit):
And in the final analysis, what survives tonight?
Theater, because it's what we live, we're changin some lives tonight, and theater thrives because we love to give it, so to speak.
This ain't reality tv, this is 8 shows a week.
Every chorus member you saw tappin, had to make miracles happen, for a chance to see you clappin, and applaudin in the audience.
What's next? Who knows. Anything Goes.
Now go see a motherf&%king Broadway (West End) show.
....
Who knows who might pop up in one, one day. Hey, we can dream~
