Just a fun thread but imagine that all the HMO community meet up for a GTG in your home town. Where shall we meet? Post a link to a cool place near you where we can meet and greet. we're looking for great food, a special ambience and good times. If you visit me, we could go here www.greenhouseperth.com/food/greenhouse/the-features-facts-and-figures/Don't let budget hold you back, if we could afford to get there, a few extra pesos won't hurt ;

VIRG! Hanging the fresh pasta! Just like Nana use to make! That looks awesome! Hometown wise - I would drag you guys after an afternoon of Broadway shows, here: THE HUDSON HALL www.hudsonhotel.com/en-us/#/photo_gallery/really fun wait staff, all of them aspiring somethings and lots of great "locals" - like Johnny Depp. We'd have to have a little lunch at some point here, just so you could say you had; www.russiantearoomnyc.com/subindex.php?p=homeand, of course, we'll kiss the naked cowboy and make our way here, at some point: www.carnegiedeli.com/home.phpNow, if we were to meet in LA I would get you guys off Sunset or Rodeo (though there is a great diner there for breakfast, the Lazy Dazy Cafe on Wilshire, and we might stop for cupcakes) and get you into a car to Glendale Blvd to hang with my local friends here: www.gingergrass.com/I'd insist that everyone at least try the Basil-Lime Elixir I'd be getting a clay pot of tofu curry, myself and we'd make it here, if we could, after some touristy jaunts; www.cafemusela.com/Photo_Gallery.htmlOR if you guys were feeling adventurous enough you could meet me in the mountains: for the skiers we'd meet after you fly down a couple slopes, here; www.downstairsaterics.com/you can leave your ski/snowboard boots on while we knock back some beer and possibly the best American pizza (for world's the best pizza we'd have to go see my cousin in Naples). No worries everyone leaves their skis and boards at the door. There's a martini bar down the street, we always hang there during the film festival, I don't remember the name, but we'd end the night there. for those of us with posh spa hopes we'd be luxuriating here, while the athletes play outside; arrabelle.rockresorts.com/but if we could snap our fingers and be there, at some point we'd eat clean, beautiful organic food in a cozy place, surrounded by the whimsical artwork of an eccentric 80 year old, at the new age mecca in the foothills - here: www.adamsmountain.com/

If I still lived back home where I grew up I would take you here... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_HoitoBut first I would make you stand outside in the line up on a Sunday morning in -40C for an hour. It always made the pancakes taste better! As for where I live now...if they don't have a kids menu, we tend not to eat there! There are a couple of great Thai restaurants (The Sthingy & Fork or Thai Saim) and coffee houses (The Green Bean), but if you want a really great Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich on Rye, Fifties Diner is the place to go. They make a pretty decent breakfast too.
