When I was 20 I met Hans. They were just recording scenes in a small town called Zatec, Czech Republic. As I was studying in the town I decided to become an extra... I had to be on the set at night most of the time and go to work in the morning. I lived on Redbull but was happy. Ok I have actually fallen in love with Hans at the time. One day he was making fun of all of us Czech extra that we shout to go to the fight with him, but do not have a clue what he is saying to us... I had to laugh... He saw me and next time he watched me when he said something to his friends. That night I deciced I have to get his signature... I went over to him with an old notepad and a pencil. Said Hi and asked him if he could sign it for me... Not only he did, but we chatted a bit about the album he was listening at the time... New Oasis album and how I understood everything he said. Not only he gave me his signature but put his address and phone number at the time... I am sure he would not do that now. I treasure the note he gave me cause the words he wrote down really helped when I was at my lowest... I hope he stayed himself through the fame. Dana

Dana, Thanks so much for sharing this experience with us! You are new here, probably don't know us at all, and what a lovely thing to let us share a bit in this personal moment for you! I am also glad it was a happy experience for you, because at one point in your story I was getting worried! I know everyone who reads it will really appreciate it. Everyone who has met or knows him all seem to say the same, that he is just a very normal guy. It would be lovely if you wish to continue to post and let us get to know you a little.
Is there any scene where we can see your face amongst the extras?!
I hope you are able to live on more than just redbull now!!!

I'm glad here is someone else from the Czech Republic.   Your experience is enviable. I was at the time of filming Les Mis only less than thirteen years old. I live outside Žatec, unfortunately. At that time, I still did not know this actor. I know that Žatec belonged to many locations, where the film was filmed. Thank you for sharing, Danka. |

Late jumping in here but wow...this is such a beautiful post! Hans is so lovely! Few actors are that way with their fans, it seems.
