SPOILER ALERT Susan Boyle will not necessarily be singing solo in The Christmas Candle... The DVD won't be out until next year, but there will be cast interviews aplenty and behind the the scenes featurette.. Susan Boyle and Samantha Barks will both be in the US doing promotions and various red carpets in Texas and Florida, as well as in their homes in the UK. The key for this film, and was expressed adamantly by the CEO of Echolight Productions, is the box office returns on the first weekend -- it's competing with the second installation of The Hunger Games that weekend. In order for there to be money to get this distributed globally, the ticket sales in the US near large metropolitan centers, where it will be playing, and the widespread release in the UK, need to get the numbers in order for the rest of the world to get it. The life of an indy film. Bums in seats the first weekend. SO there's your mission if you chose to accept it. Foreign theatrical release, if the money comes in, would be the following Christmas season. DVD release in the US and UK will be next year.

I love the image on this poster! So, Hans won't be promoting the film in the US I presume? I'll definitely go see it if my local cinema shows it. It's gonna have stiff competition going against The Hunger Games but let's have some faith it will do well!

I just received a PM asking if THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE will have a soundtrack release and I will share with everyone who may be curious that none has been announced, but of course if a release is available, I will post it. If the soundtrack is released, it will be thanks to the work of Tim Atack, the film's composer. You may have heard his work in The Invention of Lying, with Ricky Gervais

"We look forward to the red-carpet premieres of The Christmas Candle in Dallas and Orlando on October 21, with the national release in November." From the Echolight rep. They are going for attendance from Samantha Barks or Susan Boyle. Max Lucado will be in Dallas. The world premiere takes place in one week but there will be no red carpet

I'm so happy for Hans. Considering that I love costume drama, this movie is perfect. The problem is the unknow released date for Italy. There's no news about that, unfortunately. According to some websites, We'll be able to watch it on december. According to others, on next year. This is a ''christmas movie'' in my opinion. It would be perfect to have the opportunity to see it on this december. But who knows..
I'll be waiting your first comments from USA and UK. Lucky girls! ;D

Hey Glenny, let me clear this up for you.
In 2013, The Christmas Candle will ONLY be released in the UK and the USA. I asked the CEO of Echolight myself, face to face, at the preview. I encouraged him to STRONGLY consider wider theatrical distribution of this film, particularly in other Christian countries. The film makers see it as a "Christian" film, though, it has a universal message. He expressed hope that if the film does well enough in the US and UK this December, that a "foreign" theatrical release could be considered for December 2014. This film was made by a small film company, not a large Hollywood studio, and so it does not have the budget for a release that includes mainland Europe. It's wider distribution will be dependent on it's box office totals in the two countries that were involved in it's production. In fact, it will be seen in far more cinemas in the UK than in the US.
You of course can be sure, that if it doesn't get to Italy, we will do all we can to help anyone who wishes to purchase the DVD when it comes out, and to be able to watch it with a free region free player, so that, sooner or later, all will be able to enjoy it.
If you can not wait, Private Message me and I will be happy to give you some spoilers. It is the perfect Christmas film.

Thank you, Gg! I didn't know that. It's clear, now. So, I just have to wait In case there are other italian fans around here, I wanted to remind them that , in the meantime, we can read the book by Max Lucado. It's available in our country, too. The italian title is 'La luce di Natale'.
