I am very active today... tv.msn.com/tv/globes2008/nominations?ocid=B040MSN03C0144AI hope it works. !!! - "The Tudors" is nomineted in "series, drama" - Jonathan Rhys Meyers is nominated in "actor, drama" - Anna Friel's name is found in "actress, musical or comedy" for "Pushing Daisies" - and there is Samantha Morton in " supporting actress..." for "Longford" If you take a look at the complete list of nominees, there in the bottom of the page there is a question: -Which of this years nominated actors would you like to invite to dinner? Uhm...well... anyone else?Maybe...oh,no, not him... Well, I think I wouldn't invite any of them - but probably I wouldn't refuse Johnny Depp's invitation - in case he leaves his awful spectacles at home . The bigger problem is: WHAT ON EARTH SHOULD I WEAR???

you are active --
it's strange they won't be having the awards show this weekend though -- just a televised 1-hr press conference. I guess we'll see who wins, but I wonder that the "buzz" factor (selfishly considering Anna Friel and "Bathory" here) will be marketedly reduced. Strikes are hard.
OH but are you kidding -- I'd be a fly on the wall (no wardrobe concerns there) for lunch with most of the nominees!! James McAvoy, Samantha Morton, Anna Friel... it's a pretty nice list this year.

The reason why there won't be the usual ceremony is the strike of the script-writers.You can watch the one hour press conference on NBC 6:00 pm PST January 13.I think.
Back to the dinner invitation: these artists are all great and fascinating (I hope this is the right word) personalities of course, and it's a great honour to have a table shared with them anyway. There were ten names of men on MSN site to take your vote on. OK. James McAvoy would also be possible.

They had actually scheduled the Golden Globes, amidst the WGA strike, but few actors are willing to cross the picket lines. Directors and SAG are coming up to their negotiating times as well, so in the name of solidarity, the show was being boycotted. The Critics Choice awards did go, though the People's Choice awards didn't have a "ceremony" the winners did accept their awards from studios and offices on camera -- Joaquin Phoenix accepted his award without uttering a word -- he held up cards, smiling -- "I'm Speechless"... sunday night will be interesting. but Zita what would you wear?!
