Hi, just watched the first part of Nerone last night. It was really great although I didn't understand much of the language. Hans was as brilliant as usually so you didn't need to understand what he says to understand the character. Although Nero isnt the "monster", we know from history at school, in the first part of the mini-series, Hans' acting shows a constant development. i cannot imagine another actor playing that quite difficult role and as a true movie-maniac I can say, that he is a lot better than Sir peter Ustinov in Quo Vadis. it isn't only the good script, which made me feel pity with Nero, it was really Hans. I cannot hardly wait to see the next part, but I still have to wait more than 4 hours...  greets Licentia |

Hans doesn`t actually speak Italian, but the whole movie is in Italian. The best scenes are: - Hans/Neroies Octavia against his will. The best thing about this is the kiss. It is the worse kiss I have ever seen and hans looks as if he would like to kill someone... -Hans/Nero visits the room, he lived in, when he was a child. He saw there his fathers death and the memories come back. He looks confused and you can see, that he still cannot cope with the whole situation. -Hans/Nero playing harp. Just cute... -Caligula`s death. He seems to takes this very personal  I couldn`t wait to see it, so i watched tthe news on raiuno, too. Recorded a segment about Nero. Including a 5-seconds interview with Hans. greets Licentia |

I'm even more confused! If Hans isn't speaking Italian, and the movie is in Italian, how can Italians understand him? Or is it TEXTdubbedTEXT ??

Presumably it's like Canone Inverso and Mojo - filmed in English but dubbed into Italian
So technically speaking, Hans isn't speaking Italian
And here's bit of trivia for you all - The guy who plays Brittanicus, Claudius's son and rightful heir, FRANCESCO VENDITTI, is played by the actor who did the voice of Jeno Varga in the Italian dubbing of CI

The way Hans is dubbed is alright. It could be worse. The second part of Nerone was awesome, too. Nero becomes completely insane and so he makes some cruel/insane decisions. He looks really lost in his mothers's curtains |
