Well we here on the board are from all over so I guess we have seen different perspectives and emphases but now that it's coming to an end which have been the highlights and low lights for you? The most uplifting the most tragic events? Has it dominated your life or pretty much passed you by? I'm going to nominate the Moroccan runner who won the men's 1500 metres as my most heartwarming moment and the Aussie gril who was pipped at the post in the women's triathlon as my most heartbreaking (though it can never beat the girl who was disqualified in the walk in 2000 just as she enteres the stadium in Sydney) I didn't really see the women's marathon but did see the British woman who was the favourite having to withdraw and that too was tragic I'm sure there are many individual heartbreaking moments and many uplifting ones too And it's not about the medals of course but we are great ones for hearing (and manipulating) statistics Did you know that if Australia had the population of the USA we would have the equivalent of 465 gold medals

I missed the first week (no electricity), and had to read about the Olympics in the newspaper.
Everytime I watch the Olympics, I cry & cheer.
It's one of the rare times that, as a viewer, your nationality means nothing, but to the Olympians competing, their nationalities mean everything.
We the viewers cheer on all the Olympians, as they achieve feats that make them hereos in their own individual countries.
