Hello my lovelies!
I don't know if anyone has seen the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino film Sin City yet, but there was one actor (right at the very beginning—in the Bruce Willis sequence) that looked a whole lot like Hans. The voice and gestures were way off, but the facial expressions made me check the credits just in case. Not him, by the way, but an amazing likeness. Just as well though, since the character was REALLY nasty—a child molesting psychopath (what did you expect from Tarantino??). It got me to think (and how rare is that?) about some of the other scenarios we might see our usually sensitive, star-crossed, Byron-esque, do-gooder subject in.
I know, I know, I promised not to waste precious ones and zeros on silly stories again (unless, in the words of the immortal Popeye, "me public" requests them), so I appeal to you, the Hans-adoring masses. If he were to take on the role of the baddie, which one from literature, movies, TV would he be most successful at? Let your imaginations run wild!

Hans has a certain facial expression that makes him look cruel and sadistic.
I've imagined him as the Marquis De Sade.
He could also be Maldoror, who is a...character..written by Lautreamont....
If you start a new Hans story, have a part where he joyfully whips [fill in the blank]
Feel free to edit my post if you find it objectionable (I would, but I just had to post it anyway).

I wish there was an emoticon of a smiley face using a whip on this site.
IMDb has a smiley face using a whip.
I demand one be added to this site. ;D ;D ;D

Well, he certainly hasn't always played good characters...Mordred obviously wasn't, and he was certainly not a good guy at the beginning of Tube Tales...and (I wish I could see this, but never have) wasn't he a murderer or something in Family Money? And Nero wasn't terribly benevolent in the end... I think we had a thread like this a while back...perhaps on the old site...I know I'd love to see him as Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights, not quite Darth Vader (hmmm...I didn't see the new trilogy...would he have been better as young Darth?) but certainly moody and dark. There was a website a while back where someone selected Hans in his fantasy cast of some elf-fantasy story...with Hans as the evil elf...I think he used the publicity shot from Dina...he looks a bit elfen there. Speaking of lookalikes...John Hensley from Nip/Tuck? Similar look, but he doesn't quite have the range or expressiveness Hans does.

I haven't seen "Sin City" but I bet you are referring to Nick Stahl. I too have noticed a resemblance (he was in "In the Bedroom") but it's ages since I saw him in anything and I can't quite recall what sort of resemblance it was. He's cute?? Though I very much doubt he played a child-molesting psychopath as "cute".
I think when Hans has played a baddy he has inevitably lookied for some redeeming feature of the character or expanation for a characters "Badness" as if he doesn't believe that people are inherently bad. I wonder if he would even be interested in portraying a character that was truly evil.

I also see the resemblance between Nick Stahl and Hans. Their upper facial features are similar.

Hans has a certain facial expression that makes him look cruel and sadistic. I think it's looks very funny when he has that expression.

Isn't that funny. I just rented Sin City on Pay per view, and never noticed anyone looking like Hans. (I'd forgotten about this thread). I should rewind and look again.
