If you do get a chance to go to the premiere, I suggest private messaging LIZ who will give you good tips on the importance of funny hats and short skirts for fan recognition But seriously, she's done this on that side of the rope and is a good resource. If we get any news, you know we'll post it!

I assume that you've got tickets to see "In Celebration" in London. We expect you to do the stage door thing (Hint, his is the silver Merc) Latest news on the Bathory front is that the premiere has been delayed until January 2008, according to my source, Mr Igo, at IMDb. I think that's what this article says. It'll be funny though not unusual, if we get to see the Tudors first. Things seem to come in twos.

Thank you for the news. Aww... January 2008? Well.... we have to put up with the delay. The movie looks good. I love the trailer on Youtube. Can't wait to see the first reviews of the critics. Do you think they will have to reshoot some scenes or do some additional filming?

Yupt, the tactics for the In Celebration thing are as obvious as the grass is green in spring everyone does it and I saw plenty of clips of the crowds outside the theatre before I booked the tickets what I'm hoping is that my friend who knows someone who works at that theatre might help me out and if not so be it. I'll get over it I've had my dose of celebrities, I don't want to get too close anymore anyway - Hollywood and fame can be nasty places, Hans is right to not want it. Ooh and Virgil thanks for the hint will definately keep that in mind!

I just found this article : Premiere of big-budget Bathory film postponed
05 September 2007 By Irena Zemanova
The planned October release of Slovak director Juraj Jakubisko‘s big-budget film Bathory, the most expensive film yet originating in Central and Eastern Europe, has been delayed due to post-production problems The premiere of the film, based on the life of a 16th-Century Hungarian countess reputed to be the greatest murderess in history, will be held instead in January 2008, according to Deanna Jakubisková, wife of the director and executive producer of the historical film.
"The delay was caused by problems during sound editing and sound postproduction of the movie, which was done in a London studio," said Jakubisková, as quoted by the Czech news agency ÈTK on Sept. 3.
With an international cast and a budget of about 300 million crowns (€10.8 million), Bathory is the region's most expensive production yet. The film, about Countess Erzsébet (Elizabeth) Bathory, is co-produced by the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Great Britain. The title role is played by British actress Anna Friel.
Sound editing and sound postproduction is especially critical for this film. The international cast includes about 120 characters with speaking parts and about 2,000 extras. The soundtrack is in English but the film will also be released in Czech, Slovak and Hungarian.
"We ordered the sound from a foreign provider in London, but we weren't satisfied with the final version of the sound editing," said Jakubisková.
She said various sound segments as well as sound continuity need to be reworked, a process which will last through October.
According to the Czech Association of Film Distributors (Unie filmových distributorù) www.ufd.cz, the official release for Bathory is now Jan. 17, 2008.
(filmneweurope.com)What's sad is that it's delayed till January, when the sound rework will be done by October.

ah yes, the ever turbulant world of film... it's listed as out of post on imdb, and from my experience that resource is pretty conservative, so I'm speculating that there are no re-shoots.

As the date is nearing for this Premiere, I suggest anyone who read the language go to the film website and local resources (newspaper, broadcast news) and see for yourself who will be there. Generally the film festivals will do as much as they can to generate an audience and listing cast attendance is a great ticket-selling tool. Let us know if you have any luck!

Please tell me I'm wrong I can't read the Czech either (or whatever the language the article is posted in) but yeah it does seem like it's been postponed to July 2008. Why did they have to do this?! They could easily have released it during Christmas, making it a Holiday Blockbuster, since it seems like they are finished with the film anyhow (or maybe the article which we cannot read says something about why it's been postponed).
