According to Paul at Keiraweb, ITV will be screening Doctor Zhivago this December. I've often wondered, what with Keira's high profile, why they haven't done it sooner. Wonder if Working Title and ITV are in cohoots and it's part of the lobbying for Keira's Oscar nom for P&P. UK viewers can enjoy Keira at her very best (in my opinion) on Sunday afternoons from the 4th December at 3.45pm when Doctor Zhivago returns to ITV1 in three weekly parts. With Tube Tales, Still Crazy and Deathwatch also getting airplay in late November/December and of course, Virgin Queen, looks like a good month for UK Hans fans.

I received my Doctor Zhivago DVD in the mail this morning and have just finished watching it for the very first time. I have not seen the old Lean version nor read the book so I can't compare this one to any previous versions but I must say I absolutely enjoyed every single moment of this film. It wasn't anything epic or grand but the performances were so incredibly good that I didn't miss any of that. Hans, as always, was absolutely perfect. He really took you on a roller coaster ride of emotions with Yury and brought you on the journey with him. I am so happy I decided to buy it ;D

Aww yes I loved his wee dance at the Christmas party. Very cute. I totally agree, his acting was really really touching and natural, he appeared to be at ease with his character.
Whoohooo, you'll have to tell us what you thought of Mists and Dina! I've got to warn you; I Am Dina is a very very complex film - the first time I saw it I didn't get it at all - but the more you watch it, the more you understand of it and now I absolutely LOVE it! The Mists of Avalon is just wonderful! Hans is deliciously evil in it ;D

I think the Christmas party is my favourite scene in the whole thing. Not the dancing, which I find a bit - um - embarassing but when Yury says "I imagined they though of us as brother and sister" and Tonya says "Do you Yury?" then the music stops and they move out into the hall and.............aw, so sweet.

I just watched this for the first time today. I haven't seen such a powerful movie since Lord of the Rings (this may even surpass that). The end just broke my heart.

I've figured out what I'm gonna watch on Christmas day ;D rather good ol' Dr Zhivago which never fails to fascinate and move me, than renting another 'hit movie' that turns out to be the most boring project EVER invested in.

Pasternak's Grave Hit By VandalsInteresting that the article has a picture of Hans and Keira rather than Omar and Julie, especially as it is a BBC site and Dz was made by their rivals.
