Dates for US viewers! PBS Masterpiece Theatre www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/schedule/ Sundays in November 13th and 20th. Apparently the BBC will screen it sometime in January 2006. This has been deferred to give some distance between Channel 4's programme "Elizabeth 1" which starred Helen Mirren and screened last week in Britain. (Ha I was there! I could have seen it but chose to go and see Ewan McGregor in"Guys and Dolls" instead. Wicked ;D)

You make me sound like a stalker (It was Hans Christian Andersen, honest) Though I do admit, I was very vigilant on the trains in London, and not just because of that recent incident

First image of Hans in "The Virgin Queen" Agree? Looks like he's about to get the chop! There's also a trailer at this site but I couldn't find any sign of Hans in it. I think there'll be a page up at the PBS site in the next couple of weeks too - I'll keep an eye out.

Sure looks like it. I'm taping Elizabeth as we speak. I know it doesn't include Earl of Essex, but I need to refresh my memory of the overall plot. I'm only getting the first two thumbnails on the photo page. Any more Hans pics? I almost forgot this is a Coky film! I'm so psyched. She certainly directed him well the first time(s) around. How interesting that must be for them to work together again this many years later.

[banging head against the wall]
Back in July, I submitted updates to IMDb to add a page for "The Virgin Queen" (2005), as well as the cast listing. The page was added, but STILL no cast listing. I've submitted the cast list 4x...[banging head against the wall]...their Update process has slowed down drastically the past few years.
I receive email updates/reminders from PBS, and I also receive a monthly PBS schedule. The schedule is a full size glossy booklet, and it may contain a cover story on The Virgin Queen, with pictures.

I spoke too soon.
From an email I just received:
Coming in November! THE VIRGIN QUEEN Sundays, November 13 + 20, 2005 Anne-Marie Duff stars as The Virgin Queen in a lavish new two-part drama based on the improbable rise and tumultuous reign of one of England's greatest monarchs: Elizabeth I. The series explores the full sweep of Elizabeth's life: from her days of fear as a potential victim of her sister, "Bloody" Mary ); through her great love affair with Robert Dudley; into her years of triumph over the Spanish Armada; and finally her old age and her last, enigmatic relationship with her young protege, the Earl of Essex.

Bring on the "enigmatic relationship with her young protege the Earl of Essex"
It seems strange that there's no cast mentioned on IMDb and that members of the public, such as you are the responsible for what is there. Don't the studios, production companies etc provide the official details for entries as well as what's provided by fans?
It always makes me wonder what else Hans has done that 's out there but hasn't got an IMDB entry or any other presence on the web
"The Virgin Queen" is now the only programme on the Masterpiece Theatre website that hasn't got a link to its own webwage so hopefully that means that'll be done soon. They usually do an excellent job providing details about the production, the stars and historical background etc.

Don't the studios, production companies etc provide the official details for entries as well as what's provided by fans? They should, but they don't have to. What's annoying is, I've been a heavy contributor (updater) for IMDb for 5 years, and as I mentioned earlier, their update process has drastically slowed down. It always makes me wonder what else Hans has done that 's out there but hasn't got an IMDB entry or any other prescence on the webTotally agree. "The Virgin Queen" is now the only programme on the Masterpiece Theatre website that hasn't got a linkThey probably get their info from IMDb My program guide for November will probably have a cover story. Pictures! ;D

how about --
"WHAT!!! No pillow!... Didn't you see the 'Earl' on my name tag?!"
I got an email from Imdb about the slow posting of submissions a couple months ago. It said they were getting confirmation on information but posting more slowly due to a huge influx (particularly the hard to track indy market) and misinformation being sent in that consequently was taking time consuming editing -- so that, and particularly for nominations and awards -- there would be a backlog for weeks to months. Not to mention the ever expanding film festivals, and with that the increase in potential awards,... rapid growth and so, some slowing in posting. If you're on Imdb and a contributor posts a bio on you that you don't want released it takes forever to get edited. IF you notice... Or for that matter if your cast name information is wrong, switched with someone elses, whatever. Funny sometimes though. Professional account members may get faster service, but I wouldn't know how to compare. Still pretty slow at any rate.

I got an email from Imdb about the slow posting of submissions a couple months ago. It said they were getting confirmation on information but posting more slowly due to a huge influx Yes, I received the same emails. IMDb also intermittently posts their messages in my Private Message box. If you're on Imdb and a contributor posts a bio on you that you don't want released it takes forever to get edited. IF you noticeI don't have an IMDb page but I read dozens of messages monthly on the Contributors forum where people with their own page have problems updating their own information, and that really disgusts me, because they should have full access to the Updating software, and they don't. Professional account members may get faster service, but I wouldn't know how to compare.[I don't pay for IMDb Pro either, but I've heard the processing times are the same. I think my real anger stems from the overall decline of IMDb.

I never posted on IMdb until I had the professional account, but I didn't set up the page, and it was a surprise to me to find it there. That was somebody else's deal, the set up -- how long did it take you to see your contributions come to fruition, I've only ever asked for edits? Never have actually contributed, but having something pulled or changed takes time. Still not completely correct and the only people who have actually posted anything are professionals, so I can just imagine what happens if someone contributes something erroneous and it goes unnoticed forever.
I think the difficulty inherently is that it is used both a fan page and a resource for professionals and that sets up a mission plan with mixed intentions. I don't know how seriously it's actually taken, but some may feel it's a valuable resource. But it's a good point. If it's credibility comes into question than how serious a resource can it be considered inside the industry. It's still really about the photographs, reels, and the reads in the end. But times they are a changin' -- as usual.
