There are late nights in studios too. But as he uses the word "film" rather than "television show" that seems to rule out Wycliffe (1996, tv has a far quicker turnover from shoot/taping to airing), Bramwell, Christmas. His hair rules out Family Money and TheFutureLastsaLongTime. Poldark for location... hmmm. If it was STELLA maybe they cut his hair in makeup?!

I can only again recommend to read the play. Afterwords it's so much easier to follow the dialogue. In the Film-Maker's Diary Jez Butterworth wrote: "10 November 1996 - We begin Hans' first day with the last shot of the film, Silver Johnny and Baby leaving the Atlantic Yard. Hans has come straight off a night shoot from his previous film, with no sleep." I always wondered which film. As one can not go by the year a film is published as Gg explained in regard to STELLA, I thought I'd go by Hans' hairstyle (I think in Mojo this is the shortest, which we have seen from him) and came up with Bramwell. But I can't remember a night scene in it. Any ideas? Brooke, I am interested in this thing already long in total. But as I think, so the only film that came to my mind was Stella does tricks, but how you write, the length of his hair is different in Mojo. That was wrong. But if I understand correctly, so he came to the end of the film shooting, / Stella?..maybe / .. And now he began to shoot the film Mojo. I think he made the necessary adjustments to his hair because of the role Silvera Johnny. His hair shortened.

Stella premiered 9. November 1996 at the London Film Festival, exactly the night before the first day of shooting for Hans began. Surely Hans was there, and maybe there was a party or they went for some drinks afterwards and it got very late for Hans. Perhaps Jez Butterworth is confused about this. Otherwise it would be a great coincidence about the dates.

WELL DONE YOU, Brooke!
But by the final scene with Baby, Johnny HAD been through it... maybe he was getting all method with it! Well, maybe he let that be his excuse for spending too long a night in the VIP green room! Exhaustion makes sense in the scene, though, and hey it does sound pretty hardcore for the film diary. I think we only published excerpts from the book, worried about copyright and of course, I was transposing the blessed thing! Hope I didn't leave anything out!

I either got it when I saw the play or maybe at French's Theater bookstore or Dramatists, when I bought the script. It was A LONG time ago!
That's not a whole lot of help I know, but I transcribed the excerpts from the Diary that were about Hans for Virgil to post on the website so if you go there you will see them in the MOJO section. There were no new pictures in the diary.
