If/when people start successfully acquiring DVDs could you post where you are finding them for others. We've had some lurkers lately who are watching and some have emailed me asking. Any help welcome! Particularly if you find it in a shop, rather than online.

Lena, I do hope that you will buy the dvd of Bathory! It has been available to buy for a while, and downloading films (especially Hans' films), is generally frowned upon.

U're right. I don't know if I can find it in a store where I live and I don't really shop online, but next time I'll rent his movie from video club at least.

The only way that you will get to buy Bathory in store is to keep going in, and quite literally pestering them for a copy. If that doesn't work, then buying online is probably the only option left. Apart from renting out a copy as you've already mentioned.

I watched it this morning, what an amazing movie!
What a strange woman, I must had seen some portraits of her in the past, maybe had read something about her on the internet, but didn't remember her name and didn't really know much. What a strange legend and a great film.

I saw part of the czech documentary series - "20 filmových sezon v České televizi: Rozmarná léta českého filmu - 2008" (19/20)
tonight. There was the movie Bathory and talking about shooting, problems with distribution, so the final sound etc. Short interviews provided Juraj Jakubisko and Deana Horváthová. Deana mentioned the role of Anna Friel and her preparation for the role. About Hans was no mention, unfortunately.
