I now own a copy of Bathory which I've had for about two weeks now. I am determined to make enough time to watch it this weekend.

Thanks Caz! Well, I watched Bathory earlier this afternoon. All I can say is "Oh dear!" I really wanted to like this film because generally, I do love medieval themed films. Sadly though, this films' arrow missed its target; and I don't know whether that's because the storyline fell short and as a result, the story / plot just got lost within itself; or whether it could have been directed alot better. Because I am disappointed with how this film turned out, it will be a long time before I watch it again. |

I think it makes it harder when you've waited forever for something - what kinda miraculous film would be worth years of waiting for it? But I think you're right about the idea that it just loses track of itself somewhere.

It doesn't help to be distracted whilst trying to watch a film either, which I was when I tried to watch Bathory. It's probably only fair that I give it another watch sometime very soon.

I'm late, but I managed to watch this movie just yesterday  OMG, I usually try to find something good in every movie but this time, believe me, I can't. I think this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'm so sorry to say that, but there's no other way to describe 'Bathory'. Obviously it is just MY opinion, but I think I'm not the only one who think so. Just an example: Hans' character. It's a very strange and ''free'' portrait of Caravaggio. I'm still wondering what is his role in the story.. he comes and , at some point, disappears.  The idea was interesting, but it's not been developed well. Ok, it's always a pleasure seeing Hans, but he deserves a better role. I hope I've explained myself well. Sorry, guys, my english is poor and sometimes I can't say what I want in the right way. |

I watched this movie again on Tuesday on the ČT1. I just heard the praises to Hans from my friends the next day, apparently the only guy in the film, which was beautiful and talented. It is good to hear. ;D |
