Yeah, more and more interesting things are being deleted from Youtube. If only there wasn't that copyright infringement issue... I sent a mail to sola-media.net to know if they had the release dates for Bathory for England and France. I had an answer. They answered pretty quickly, i had sent the mail two days ago! BATHORY is currently in post-production and will be ready for delivery early next year.
We hope that you can see the film in the theatres in France, but do not yet have a distributor.
Best regards,
SolveigMmm... not very precise, but at least, they answered. It is what i was afraid of, i won't see the movie in France. Looks like i will have to go to England, or wait for the DVD release.

Did you know that Anna Friel's daughter is playing Bathory's baby in the movie?! She has two daughters in the movie, and anna's plays the younger one. I found this info on TV.com and IMDb. I also looked for some information on the real Elizabeth Bathory and i found some interesting stuff : Elizabeth BáthoryAKA Erzsébet Báthory
Born: Aug-1560 Birthplace: Ecsed Castle, Nyírbátor, Hungary Died: 21-Aug-1614 Location of death: Cachtice Castle, Slovakia Cause of death: unspecified Remains: Buried, Cachtice, Slovakia
Gender: Female Religion: Cult Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Bisexual Occupation: Royalty, Criminal
Nationality: Hungary Executive summary: Hungary's infamous Bloody Lady
Elizabeth Báthory was a member of the ancient Bathory family whose prestige at one time almost rivaled that of the Hungarian Royal Family. Her uncle, Stephen Báthory, was King of Poland from 1575 to 1586, and her brother was the Prince of Transylvania. She is said to have murdered around 600 young girls. Whether she did this for sadomasochistic pleasure or for the purpose of bathing in their blood (a reputed fountain of youth), it is difficult to say. Legends that surrounded her behavior are also believed to be the source of much of the vampire mythos. Bram Stoker based his novel, Dracula, on a conflation of Vlad the Impaler and Countess Elizabeth.
Father: Baron George Bathory Mother: Anna Bathory Daughter: Anastasia Bathory (b. 1574, illegitimate) Husband: Count Ferencz Nádasdy (b. 1555, m. 8-May-1575, d. 4-Jan-1604) Daughter: Anna Nádasdy (b. 1585) Daughter: Katalin Nádasdy (b. 1594). Son: Paul Nádasdy (b. 1598, d. 1650) Slept with: Klara Bathory (Elizabeth's bisexual aunt)
House Arrest : 1610 to her death (Bricked into a single room in her castle)
Is the subject of books: The Bloody Countess, 1970, BY: Valentine Penrose Dracula Was a Woman: In Search of the Blood Countess of Transylvania, 1983, BY: Raymond McNally Countess Dracula: The Life and Times of the Blood Countess, Elisabeth Bathory, 1997, BY: Tony Thorne The Blood Confessions, 2006, BY: Alisa Libby source : www.nndb.com/people/263/000112924/

Is anyone in the US watching the new ABC series "Pushing Daisies"?
Apparently Anna Friel (aka Elizabeth Bathory) is in it for about eight episodes. I wonder if her part is significant enough to make her well-known to US audiences, and if this would influence the marketability of "Bathory".
Any thoughts?

I've heard of this series. I hope it is successful in the US. It would be great if it could have a good impact on the Bathory release and make more countries decide to screen it. *Fingers crossed*

"Pushing Daisies" is a pretty interesting show, creative premise, thank God, as "reality" programming has nearly taken over here. My hope is that it makes it past more than its first run, gets picked up for a second season. Does everyone know what "Pushing Daisies" is about -- kind of a "King Midas" take on things. The lead can touch the dead once and bring them back but if he touches them again, they die permanently -- romantic tension ensues.
At any rate, here in the US Anna Friel became know, at least to me, about the same time as Dominic West, with "Midsummer Night Dream" -- it was Stanley Tucci -- who I truly love -- Christian Bale, Kevin Kline, Michele Pfeifer, Rupert Everett, and Calista Flockhart who were recognizable to me at the time. I think my favorite of hers is "Me without You", after keeping an eye out -- she's people easy to catch on cable -- I think she's on at least twice today. Dominic West, on the other hand, is has been in release after US release, and done a good deal of american television.
So I think there is a particular audience here that will already knows who she is, recognize her in "Daisies" and then, if "Bathory" is given any support (assuming a wide theatrical release) it won't feel like quite so "foreign" and foreign film.

I was given a "Pushing Daisies" fridge magnet at Disneyland parking garage! And the guy at Warner Bros was very enthusiastic about it.
Glad to know she has had exposure in the US. I thought she was mostly known for that Brit sit-com.

There's a L-o-n-g article about Hans - and a picture - here.
Unfortunately it's all in Slovakian Hungarian (Thanks for the correction, Nada). Anyone able to provide a translation? - I will try, but patience, please it will take long... To excite your curiosity: the title "A túlfûtött skót" means: The overheated Scottish (Wow,wowww...)Maybe I start a new thread...

I've just found some new pictures of the movie. Mainly Anna Friel, but there is also one of Hans. Those pics are in a video on Youtube. Here is the link : www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ux1AVZwVvkY This is a great video, with the title song of the movie and some pictures of the real Elizabeth Bathory. The trailer is back on Youtube as well. This one is slightly different from the one of the official website : Seems to be the new official poster : Anna Friel's wigs :
