I saw it! Thought it was very good. It's the only reason I ordered Showtime in the first place. I caught up on the first series' episodes. And I got to watch it on my 40" HD tv, too. I recorded it on my DVD, on the Showtime HD channel..but forgot that because my DVD player isn't HD it would have come out clearer on the regular channel. So I plan to record on the "normal" Showtime, but watch it on HD

keep your nickers on Virg I'm getting it together.
(give it a couple more weeks though -- how many newbies do you expect to fall immediately for the new priest...)
I just loved the stuttering... definitely endears you to the character. I've got to say I've loved James Frain in other roles, so it will be great to see them "sparing" as it were. Something about the way he removed the hat in that first scene worked for me. I am wondering how it will play out, though we know the history of course, how Cramner will evolve as a personality.
Curious to consider that as we watch the work of months ago shaping a character who is seemingly timid, that as we speak, he is playing with a character who is quite the opposite.

Virgil, you were right! The parts of ep.1 and 2 are moved from Youtube. Maybe there wasn't enough time to watch or download them, so that's why we're waiting for the newbies' rush in vain.

I'm not surprised they've taken off youtube, but I bet you couldfind them online somewhere if you tried I came across a review site that actually mentions Hans Show of HansThe relevant paragraph That said, let's jump right in, shall we? This episode takes place two years after last season's finale and the first thing I noticed was that everyone had a lot more hair (the King, Brandon, Wyatt). Maybe the fashions changed? Did the Reformation bring curls? The second thing that caught my eye was Hans Matheson (pictured) joining the cast as Henry's new personal chaplain, Thomas Cranmer. I love this guy. He was perfect as Yury in the recent Doctor Zhivago remake (I know... I know... but it is possible to be as good as, if not better than, Omar Sharif). If you call yourself a fan of costume drama and you haven't seen it, I suggest Netflixing Zhivago post haste. Matheson has a whole page dedicated to him in the Tudors press release, so I'm guessing he'll be a big part of the show, especially with Henry becoming head of the English church and all. Matheson has a whole page dedicated to him in the Tudors press release,Really? Where is this press release?

Zita I tried to put some pictures on that TudorWiki but couldn't figure it out And a copy of the first four episodes available on Ebay. I gather it's a journalist's preview screener. Only selling to the US. Anyone?

OK so episode Three has screened, right?
Does Hans have a bigger role in this? I'm impatient for a recap, or better yet, actual screen caps!!!!

YES! Indeed, Cramner has more screen time in Ep.3. and he gets a "special delivery"
SPOILERS
This episode goes from the whisper of Anne's pregnancy all the way to the birth of Elizabeth. A one hour gestation!
Cramner accepts the Archbishopship (I couldn't be right on that term-age there), and Cromwell is promoted as well. Cramner's secret wife shows up from Germany -- in a BOX-- and he crowns, (well he gets to do most of it till Henry bogarts the crown) Anne, all robed in purple and white and spouting Latin. Cramner is coming into his power, and is popping up in more scenes, and will continue to advocate for the reformation of the Church, and bully on behalf of the King, it seems, in episodes to come. The pacing has sincerely accelerated and you can definitely see where the wind is blowing. Cramner is getting less mild-mannered, and there are a couple of moments when he is addressing his colleagues that becomes reminiscent of his speeches in "Les Mis" or "Nero". Very direct, high volume, articulation and intensity definitely increasing. The coronation of Anne, though, is all heart-felt holiness.
caps coming (well waiting for you when you return) to your email-box Virgy.

Of course it's me again reporting that - of course- I've found ep 3. on Youtube ( of course...) Here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU_x14C94k8Open your eyes at 8:10! This is the link to the first part, just go on and you will find the rest. Is it necessary to say to hurry before it is deleted...? I was quick enough to download ! Well, is there anyone who wouldn't be able to forgive him - even though travelling such an uncomfortable way, but welcoming with such a kiss...? Is the wife's name Catherine? On Tudors Wiki I read it was Margaret!

SPOILERS
we saw nothing of Cramner's wife in this 4th episode. But he did baptise Elizabeth, in Latin. VERY sweet indeed. We didn't see much of him but what is happening now, to the church, to the country is very much in the forefront (can't think of a single sex scene! that's like a record). Sir Thomas Moore was very much in the forefront which I am sure made more than one of my mother's friends little hearts go pitter-pat (Colin Firth and Jeremy Northam gets them all dewy). We get to see Cramner get all scrappy with him when he will not take the OATH close to the end of the episode.
has it popped up on YouTube Zita??
