sorry that's Hans and his grandfather returning from a fishing trip...I assume. It was the subdued photo from the cookbook. I thought that there is a photo of his brother William, and grandfather.

sorry that's Hans and his grandfather returning from a fishing trip...I assume. It was the subdued photo from the cookbook. I suspect that grilled fish implies you take the fish...and grill it. He's lucky, when I was a kid - you catch it, you clean it. Nana would still cook it, if Dad would let her get her hands on it. but guys buy this book if you can -- Ross Munro is a sweet little guy, his pciture is in the book as well, and Action Duchenne is a great cause! The book has a lot of recipes, and well worth the donation! (easy for me to say, ay Virg) the subdued photo from the cookbook He recalls his happy childhood, I know. Charity is a good thing, I am nothing.

No, he alludes to William in the paragraph about the recipe, but apparently he couldn't get him to sign a release.... that's a joke. Just the man and his grandpa. The picture was kind of really light -- there is of course the promo picture from "Half Light" but that is in full color. The family pictured is subdued -- harder to see, not as vivid. not sure what you meant, but you're not "nothing"! you're YOU!

I understand correctly that this is Hans with his grandpa?

YES, you are right, Hans and his grandfather, from the books description. I'm stupid, thanks Gg. This photo is low quality. Hans is not very similar.

I assume!? I mean I copied out of the cookbook, but I assume they got a copy of the original for publishing.

It's a type of fish soup. Doesn't really sound appetizing to me right down to the name. But that is just my lack of interest in fish all together!

I was led to believe, by Kenny Munro who compiled the book, that it is a photo of William. It was taken by their mother. But does it matter? They are probably very similar and this pic is obviously some time ago (Grandpa Maclean passed some years ago - while Hans was filming DZ I believe)
The picture in the book is very muted - that is the styling of the book. Many pages have these muted photos in the corner of the page. The actual picture is much smaller than the scan Gg has provided and even more muted. She has done a brilliant job of scanning so you can see it better.
Cullen Skink is poached smoked haddock - in milk and wine. Served with mashed potaoes. Comfort food. Gordon Brown's contribution is Steak Pie. I'd cook something from it tonight but I'm going out.

Thanks Virgil, I kinda thought the picture was cute in a weird, rustic farm house sort of way, if you catch my drift.
As for the Skink, it still sounds pretty nasty to me but...then again I think for some things, you've actually got to be from the region to get it, 'cause really...I've found a lot of food from other cultures that just...I'd never eat it, never want to try it but there's people who will still eat it...Steak pie?
What did you say Hans' contribution was?
