Much like Laura, I also really loved this and it is now on my top 5 films for 2010. The flute scene was really comical and yes, it got laughs with the audience here too. I could go on about how much I really did enjoy this film, but I don't wish to spoil it for those who haven't as yet seen it. The musical score was also very good. I will have to buy the soundtrack to COTT when it's released. Hans looked good in a skirt too! Couldn't agree more!

I was surprised how much Hans was in this! He was by far the best character. I've already seen it once today, but I can't help but go again tonight or tomorrow haha!!!

I found an unflattering article. www.novinky.cz/kultura/196604-novy-souboj-titanu-vyvolal-v-americe-zklamani.htmlHere it is written - In America, this film is disappointing. Average, boring, emotionless, humorless - The characters lack depth, the story is no rhyme, awkward dialogues, confusing story written with an absolute lack of humor, lofty airs and dialogues, this movie is rated overall as a superficial and a children's movie. Plus - elaborate action scenes with the latest technology. I hope that the film is so not awful ...

I don't really remember anyone laughing at the flute scene when I went. :/ I was grinning like a loon, it was so cute ... maybe I was just too distracted to hear them. For me it was a little "seen one action/fantasy/CG heavy film, seen them all" ... even though I love mythology, and was also really excited to see Ralph Fiennes as Hades. I felt the only real trouble with it was lazy characterisation (especially as Sam Worthington was far too reminiscent of his characters in T4 and Avatar), so you don't truly feel for the characters. But it's a nice story, and it was done well enough.

trade report: It was a record breaking Easter weekend debut for WB/Legendary’s much-hyped Clash of the Titans remake. The newly-christened 3D pic took in an estimated $61.4 million from 3,777 locations including 1,810 3D screens it managed to pilfer from Alice in Wonderland. Additional 44million was acquired in platforms overseas. www.collider.com/2010/04/04/weekend-box-office-clash-of-the-titans-614-million-breaks-easter-record/How much do I hope he got backend in his contract(!) and no, Lynette, it wasn't awful. If you watch the trailer and allow it to stand on it's own, as if you have never seen the original, it is exactly what you would expect. The 3D was definitely an afterthought, but it wasn't a liability. Easily said, I suppose, if you are seeing it without extra expense, but then again, it is only $3US more, so it's hardly an injustice. Not missing much if you see it in 2D though. I thought the bit with kind of nodding to the bird and casting it aside was kind of cute. and the "official" wb coverage wwws.warnerbros.co.uk/clashofthetitans/premiere/

I think we are repeating ourselves now with the links, so I will do my best to only post if Hans is mentioned, and I haven't already posted it.
This was kind of cute:
from TMB - movie blog -
"The Argonauts are pretty good too. They are given a little depth; Hans Matheson is Red from Shawshank Redemption, he is prepared for anything. Nicholas Hoult is the wide eyed kid in his first battle who is nervous about everything. Liam Cunningham is the old man who should have retired years ago, but is needed, he's also the comic relief. And Mads Mikkelsen is bad-ass, almost Muldoon from Jurassic Park levels of bad-ass."

technically I'm violating my earlier post, but I thought this was a little entertaining... ON COTT COSTUMING: they made casts of everyone's bodies for the costumes. "They had to cast my head as well," he said. "It was very weird to have your whole body, including your whole head, covered. It's very claustrophobic. It solidifies while it's on you and then they have to cut it off." How anatomically detailed was it? "I had a tiny little pair of pants on," he said, laughing. "They also covered all the hairy bits in Nivea cream so it wouldn't stick." Read more: www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b174963_clash_of_titans_star_they_covered_my.html#ixzz0kKIRD1Dfand if you haven't seen it yet, not released where you are, and you don't mind a bit more you can check out this clip vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=103689107OR PM me,... I can tell you as little or much as you want to know, if you are just knawing at the bit,... so to speak. I'd rather give you a play by play than have anybody here download the pirated downloads that now riddle the internet. It's worth seeing in a theater, 2D or otherwise. Production cost 70million (production budget) and additional $13,000US/minute to convert a 2D film into 3D (as was the case for COTT that equaled an additional 4.5 million $US) so I encourage you to go, buy a ticket, and see it as it was made to be seen.

and Hans' Imdb rating went up 346% after COTT's first weekend.
Hopefully one or two of those are casting agents!

Last night there was a 11 min Making Of on TV. Two screen caps So yesterday I went to see COTT and all in all was quite pleased with it. Hans' character was really lovely, with way too little screen time of course. It was the first time I saw Sam Worthington in a movie (actually I have seen him before in Somersault but I don't remember his performance) and I have to admit that I thought him a bit bland. Mads Mikkelsen is by far the better actor in my opinion.
