I finally got around to watching the original version of "Clash Of The Titans". Shall we just say some of the special effects, state of the art in their time, are a little below our present day expectations. And the acting I found a little theatrical, especially the Gods. Perseus was just bad.
Now I'm wondering what accents they will use. Will they go all RP since most of the cast are British? Sam Worthington has a very broad working class Australian accent and I've only see him play characters with that accent. I know he used an American accent in terminator and just the bits I've seen in trailers and excerpts i thought that drifted a bit. I guess we'll see - It's a long way off after all.
I'm just procrastinating..........again

The movie seemed to me very childish. Adult viewers can only laugh. |

I was reading some reviews on this movie and it seems that even the hard core Titan's fans from the original are looking forward to a remake...if only from a special effects point of view.

Really? Most of the boards I've read have rabid fans of the original who regard a remake as sacrilege. I still haven't seen the original Clash of the Titans and I'm not sure if I'm going to, I don't know whether just to wait and see this one, it really doesn't sound like my type of film and I'm guessing that the only reason I'll be seeing it is to see Hans in it.

Honestly when it comes to remakes, I'm a bit torn on the subject, some things should never be redone and some things (like Clash) should be. As long as it's done well, because if it steps too far from the story or has something more modern looking in it that wouldn't have been back in that time, it makes the entire movie look almost as bad as the original.
I tend to feel that way about back-stories as well. Why the hell would you make the back-stories have so many things that were never in the originals? I'm talking here about the Star Wars Catastrophe. The new ones all had sleek ships, things that had never existed in the older movies, the aliens were different and hell Family Guy did a better job of telling the story, Robot Chicken even did a better job than George Lucas which is really sad to me. They should have left the d**n story alone, I mean...since when can Yoda kick someone's butt? The franchise boomed and there were more fans but I can guarentee you over half of them never went back to watch the old ones because well...they were "old" and yet for their time they were brilliant.
I don't know....Maybe it's just me and having seen the original and loving it though now that I watch it again I don't understand for the life of me WHY I loved it. I just...I'd like to see what can be done with it and I hope for their sake and the sake of many others that it isn't one of those that's practically black listed as horrible as soon as it comes out...you know the ones, there's one preview for it and then it's never even heard from again?
