I think what I like most about Hans is his expressions. He´s one of the best actors I´ve seen when it comes to expressing different emotions just by their body language and facial expressions. His angry face is amazing, but I personally think he´s truly mastered the art of looking sad/worried/scared. It never seems forced and I always 100% believe that he actually is sad/worried/scared. Oh and also I think he´s reaaaaally good when it comes to characters that are a tad bit...disturbed, if you know what I mean

It's sad that I really like to see him look upset about something, but as you said before that is one of his truest expressions. Also, I know what you mean with disturbed characters...first thing that comes to mind is Silver Johnny and possibly Eddie.

Ah yes Silver Johnny is definitely one of those characters, I haven´t seen Stella does tricks yet (working on it! ) so I can´t really say about Eddie, but I´d say Mordred and the earl of essex also deserve to fall under the disturbed characters category

Yeah...Mordred and the Earl of Essex both have that "My mother or aunt wants more power" issue definitely.

I first noticed Hans in 1998 & was so struck by his screen presence- "who is this handsome young man?" I've followed his acting career ever since but what I like the very best about him is his tenderness. In film he always manages to convey a soft tenderness, showing that he has a gentle & warm heart. I imagine he has a very beautiful soul...

There’s no doubt that Hans is quite a gud looking guy who hasn’t changed or aged that much over the years. But there are a lot of gud looking actors out there. I personally like the characters he plays in a lot of his films and TV roles. Hans tends to play nice guys. Saintly guys who go out of their way to help people and are gud with kids. He looks young but he plays characters who act more like how u wud expect a kindly grandfather to act. It’s refreshing and it’s a pleasant surprise. Films and TV shows where he’s played nice characters are Stella Does Tricks, The Christmas Candle, Dr Zhivago, Bramwell, Jericho and Still Crazy. Even in roles like in Tube Tales and Comfortably Numb, he’s no angel, but there are still times where he tries to do the right thing and he’s not all bad either. I’ve read in old interviews that he was shy at school, he doesn’t have a mobile phone and he doesn’t like TV. Everybody his age then wud have been crazy abt mobile phones or glued to their TVs. He just seems wise beyond his years. He also speaks kindly abt his co-stars in interviews. He seems like the sort of person who wud be nice to work with and who wud make a gud friend.

Omg Hans looks like my year 3 primary school guitar tutor!! ( A long time ago. Dunno how I even remember)?
From recent projects like Jericho and his new music videos, I think Hans dresses and presents himself differently in real life to how he looks in his films. I don't think he's the clean shaven guy in DZ or The Xmas Candle. I think in real life he has a funny fuzzy moustache that he never ever shaves, a goatee beard and long hair. He also takes his guitar with him everywhere. There's nothing wrong with this. He's still as just cute as he always was. He looks young for his age too. But when walking around his home town, he looks more like a down to earth, cute and scruffy student rather than a Russian doc. Most people probably don't recognise him from his films.
I think that's the reason we like him.
