Apart from the fact he's a fantastic actor, what first attracted you to Hans? Personally for me it's his gorgeous eyes and lips. One thing that I'm not too keen on is his long thumb nail on his right hand, I know it's long because of his guitar playing but I don't really like long nails on men. The nail however became rather handy in Tess when cutting a strawberry to feed Tess with.

Both the outer & inner package have their part to play when liking or being attracted to someone. But I do agree with lynette, there has to be more to a person than just their appearance and / or looks.
I'll admit I also like Hans' eyes, they are gorgeous. But I also like his nature and his character. He seems very sincere in the interviews that I've watched of him.

Certainly, for the relationship is an important character and physical appearance. ;)But I doubt, that would ever HM my boyfriend or husband. ;DHe is likeable in his interviews, I think he is very pure and honest soul.

Yes I agree that personality is a vital factor in attraction, and Hans comes across as a lovely, down to earth person in the interviews that I have seen of him. But what was it that initially caught your eye about Hans?

My mom said then that he is quite handsome. I think he has a very deep look in his eyes and beautiful velvet voice.

I can't quite put my finger on what I find attractive about him, it's very much a general thing with him. Definitely the fact that he has a lot going on behind the eyes and you can imagine having a conversation with him that you wouldn't want to end.
When I first saw him in Zhivago I immediately said to my nan oooh he's handsome. He has a very sensitive face and eyes. And a gorgeous smile of course.

Zhivago was the first thing I saw him in too and I've been hooked ever since! I think it'd be good to see him in a 'modern piece' as he does mainly period dramas, I've enjoyed collecting many of his dvds. I cannot wait for March 26th for COTT yay!

Looking back now when Zhivago was first on I prefered Daniel Liotti who played Mischa, even though I was aware of Hans work over the years I think I only really really noticed him in Tess, but I must say he is a Gentlemen who certainly get's more attractive with age.

The first show I saw him in I believe was Half Light. For me it was the boyish looks and the hair...accents always help also!!! (even though not his real accent...didn't know that at the time!)
He does have a thing with his eyes though. His face is very expressive and when he is sad or torn, you can definitely feel it.
He is a phenomenal actor who is very talented musically and nice to look at!

But what was it that initially caught your eye about Hans? Not sure where you are wanting to go with this thread. Right now I'm thinking that "But what was it that initially caught your eye about Hans?" and "What do you find attractive about Hans?" are essentially one and the same question but just phrased differently.

Right now I'm thinking that "But what was it that initially caught your eye about Hans?" and "What do you find attractive about Hans?" are essentially one and the same question but just phrased differently. Firstly I was drawn his eyes, because they're so intense, this was my initial reaction to his looks. For me I firstly didn't see his personality because he was playing a character, but afterwards, watching and reading interviews, I got more of an insight to his personality and he comes across as a nice person. I think that is what was meant by the question because you can't initially see a persons personality when they are playing a character. But if you have read or seen an interview of him first then you could initially be attracted to his personality, but as I saw him playing a role first, looks is the only thing you can go by.

I saw Hans first time in Half Light. I just steared him and wondered: "Who is that man???(I discovered his name later). I love his hair when their are long (like in "Dina"). And his eyes and lips...

First time I saw him was playing Luke Shand in Still Crazy. I have a thing for guitarists for starters, then there was the eyeliner and that fabulous rainbow jumper ... there is no way a character like that wouldn't catch my eye, but his performance really endeared me, so I went looking for more of his films.
But as we're talking physicality, I suppose he does tick a few boxes when it comes to my ~type~ ... dark hair, strong brow, thin lips. As a whole, his facial features I think are very masculine, which I also think is really attractive.
And actually, I really like seeing the long nails on his right hand when I watch his films. I noticed at one point that it's generally the thumb, index and middle fingernails. Looking at a picture of him as Lord Coward it looked as though they'd been cut, which I found oddly a little disappointing. I guess for the shots that are of his hands only (like picking the strawberry) it's just nice to see that they actually are his hands being filmed.
