Well, I personally agree with you, but it is a based on a book written by a preacher for his ministry and made by a Christian film company, distributed by a Christian film distributor... and though the film speaks universally, in my opinion, and could be marketed a bit more accessibly perhaps, those that made it did so with the intention to make, promote, and offer a Christian film.
I do think, though, that once you see it, though the Christian principles are there and the debate it explores is undeniably a Christian one, it will speak to all. Well, many. Perhaps not Anarchists or skeptics or cynics... but it's not challenging stuff - more uplifting and sweet and gentle. Nothing to fear, I think.
I have been staring and staring at this picture wondering what was going on. So i'm just gonna ask. There is a label coming out of his ear? It almost looks like he's a dolll after all and the tag needs to be taken off before use.
In 12 days THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE will be released but there is still no official word on subtitles. CC will be on the US DVD but just in case there is a subtitle issue, there is a resource that can be of help for German, Portugese, Arabic, Ukranian, Turkish, Polish, Hungarian, Russian, Italian, Greek, French, and Spanish, but be careful, they do ask for information and this is not a tested resource:
Michael is an incredibly sweet man who I first "met", just a few days after the TCC screening in his home city (unfortunately). He periodically writes about the actor on his blog and has popped in here as well. He's a great writer and very interesting to read in any subject, particularly if you are interested in Catholicism from a LGBT perspective. Thanks for posting.
