Laura, sorry to read about your lost ring! That happened to me years ago, and I felt exactly as you did. And I also hope that things have improved for you on the job front.

Aww thanks Cat! But I was going through my bag the other day and there it was!! Naturally my mum thought it was hilarious because she'd said to me all along it was in my bag but I just don't see how it could have fallen in there. But anyway it's back now, on a different finger so it doesn't fall off again. As for the job front, I'm applying for anything and everything right now. The job I'm in isn't bad it's just the fact that the managers take the mickey and it is getting beyond a joke really. I've got an interview tomorrow at a functions club near where I live, it's just bar work but who knows something might come of it. I saw Sean Lock, the comedian on Monday night. He was absolutely hilarious and naturally me being the 'stalker' I am, I went round to the stage door. I am building up quite a collection of photos now. There's a girl I know purely from seeing her at the stage door all the time in Liverpool so it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one! He made a few jokes about people who wear glasses (because he does), I don't know if there are any other glasses wearers on the board but he really got it down to a tee. s487.photobucket.com/albums/rr239/strictlygal/?action=view¤t=001_15.jpg

Thank you both I've just got back from the theatre...oh I wish I could live in the theatre!! I went to see an Irish dance show called 'Essence of Ireland'. The leaflet said better than Riverdance and Lord of the Dance and I thought 'Oh yeah right, that'll never happen'. But oh my!!! It was miles better than the two of them put together, I never thought I'd say that, I adore Riverdance but this was just incredible. I made the man sitting next to me physically jump when I started cheering, I felt marginally guilty for a nano second but then got over it and carried on cheering. Bearing in mind I was on the front row. I always think any performers deserve credit and cheering and clapping is the only way to get that across!

You're awesome Laura! I can just picture you wooting and cheering for them. I'll have to keep my ear to the ground for that show, since I also really enjoyed Riverdance when I finally saw it last year.
Glad your ring turned up. I had hoped it would! Lost things are always in the most unexpected places. After 3 days of ripping apart the house I finally find my son's bday gift that I bought a month ago. I must have thought it would be in the most logical of hiding spots for me to remember...either that or I'm getting dementia. Although the wicked stress I've been under lately, I'm surprised I remember my own name some days!

I get into that frame of mind where I just don't care what anyone thinks of me. My pet hate is people who pay a fair amount of money for a ticket then sit there with a face like thunder, I just don't see the point!! I remember you said you saw Riverdance, it is a fabulous show.
Aww, it's horrible when you lose something. Hope the stress subsides soon.
Is anyone going on holiday in the summer?

Floor is going in this weekend in the basement. Bathroom is not quite done yet but the cabinet and sink are in and I now have water in the basement. Next is the toilet. Walls are painted an amazing colour - although very hard to describe. I can't tell if it is tan, green or yellow, it depends on the light and I'm usually pretty good with colour. The basement is quite striking considering it was just concrete walls a few months ago.
Thanks Laura...your right it is hard when you lose something or someone as in my case. The stress will be around for awhile until I get things settled. I have my family though which is the most important thing to me.
We are probably heading to Ottawa and maybe Quebec this summer. We are hoping to get away for Christmas instead...maybe Mexico to visit family and then head to a beach. Fingers crossed!

Sounds lovely Jenny!! Wish I was going somewhere, would love to try and get to Scotland again but until I'm settled in a job I plan on staying in I can't see that happening.

Love Stornoway!! Their song 'I Saw You Blink' is played so much by me, they're a great band.
I'm so upset, it was bucketing down this morning when I left for work so I took my umbrella naturally. When I finished my shift my brolly had gone, me and my friend looked everywhere and couldn't find. Someone had only gone and taken it. I'm fuming, I just don't understand some people.

You don't seem to have much luck with your belongings Laura, I can't stand people who nick from others.

Laura, I do hope you reported your brolly theft? I am with Caz on this, I hate people that feel the need to steal from somebody else.
With regards to Stornoway the band, I had only heard of them on the day that I posted the link. I will have to give them a few more listens but they sound really promising! And speaking of Stornoway, I really need a holiday!

I don't really have all that much luck no I went into the staff room where the manager was doing a briefing to see if it had been moved in there but it hadn't, I was so angry and the manager just wasn't bothered, it was like it was an everyday thing. I've never worked in a place where it is OK to take something that belongs to someone else. The thing is, is that whoever took it wouldn't have known it was mine which means they're more than happy to steal from anyone and everyone. I'm in dire need of a holiday, my friend who lives in Dublin wants me to go there for a while, we haven't seen each other since February so I'm going to book some cheap flights and get away for a bit!
