As for the newest information I got: Hungarian realese will be on 13th March! Sounds much closer than Karlovy Vary FF . Patience is the best quality of mine. (These smiley-icons are not wild enough to express my patience...)

Over on the Official Anna Friel Forum, they're not very optimistic about "Bathory". In fact, they have a conspiracy theory! Premiere of big-budget Bathory film postponed
I know it's old news but it proves my conspiracy theory as clearly as Anna's lovely green eyes
The ABC Mafia have promised Mr Jakubisko a horse's head bed partner if he premieres his film while 'Pushing Daisies' is trying to get established in the States and see off the other mob's torturous 'Deal or No Deal'.
Our ABC guardians are desperately protecting the 'perky, quirky, fresh as a living daisy' image of their young female lead and don't want any nasty images surfacing of that rogue Caravaggio scrawling rude drawings on her naked flesh after a sinful embrace.
Even worse, they don't want us to see their sweet, pure starlet wielding a plastic sabre and cutting off some poor miserable wretch's head with a mad, evil grin on her pretty face
As for me, I'd rather watch 'Bathory' any day than 'PD'. If 'Daisies' flops but Anna retains her rave reviews, maybe they could re-cut 'Bathory' into a mini-series for HBO?

Hmm... I don't know what to think. I know, it's business all, but "a horse's head as a bed partner" - how brutal!- it's Godfather's theme isn't it? I hope Hungary is far enough from the US and "Pushing Daisies" and noone will be bothered of realesing Bathory here. Because I want to see that "rogue Caravaggio" rather sooner than later.

Double-posting, I'm sorry. Hungarian realese date is missing from the site I referred in one of my previous posts. God knows what's going on. Concerning the ABC Mafia problem: would you hate your favourite actor/actress for a role of a negative character? Wasn't Ralph Fiennes great as Amon Goeth? And what about Hans as Patrick? How I'd love to see him as a bad boy! The variety of different characters proves an actor's talent.

I think that the ABC mafia theory is actually pretty silly. Exposure and press of any kind is generally considered helpful as to conjuring interest in a actor/film. Aside from the fact that there would have to be a whole lot of revisionary history as to Anna's already pretty broad catalogue (i.e. she's covered a fair number of characters, good, bad, and ugly, as well as movies that were well -- good, bad, and ugly as well) -- "Pushing Daisies" is a quirky little series with a very specific demographic - and not one, I suspect, that would be considered untolerant -- these people break into song and do water ballet in the middle of the episode for heaven's sake.
Karlovy Vary is lovely place, not terribly far from Prague -- but its Festival is not Cannes. It is the ever epic battle for distribution outside of Europe that concerns me.
But Zita -- I want it all -- the villian, the underdog, the hero, the victim, the radical, the addict, the outsider, the king of the world -- whatever. I liked watching "Morded" plotting against his parents, being manipulated by his Aunt, "Eddie" pathetically pimping out Stella for his first love, heroin, even "Luke" insensitively flirting with groupies as a girl who thought they were together watched, and that scene when we "meet" him as "Patrick" in the train station -- the best of the film. I came here because I saw him playing a drag queen for heaven's sake! Yeah -- RANGE -- bring it on!
