Didn't Julianna Marguiles say that in the extras for Mists of Avalon -- everybody got sick on the fish and the Czech cameraman said "NONONO, never eat fish here, we are a land locked country"

you mean squid? or live squid? I think my brother DID do it to be shocking, but I think Koreans do it because it is considered a delicacy. I was a vegetarian the first time I went to England, and was still when I went to Scotland the first time and so I missed out then on the Haggis, blood pudding, etc thing, but since I have found that lots of the Scottish cuisine has something of a french twist on it. Actually I do find much of it comforting and warm, and I love the whimsical names. But I don't have the fish aversion mentioned by some. You've never tasted fish, though, unless you've tried it in Scotland, in Italy, and in Japan (or prepared by a Japanese person who loves you). American's (unless you're physically in Alaska where the Salmon tastes like candy it's so sweet and ruby red) have never actually tasted fish as its meant to be. We are too land locked a country. I thought a live squid.

We do not have a sea or ocean. Most seafood comes from foreign imports. We have only a few species of freshwater fish. We have a traditional Christmas meal carp with potato salad and fish soup.

Someone is selling the Caledonian Kitchen recipe book for 38 GBP in the amazon marketplace. This is unbelievable, when you consider you can get one for a 10 Pound donation! I hope it's not one of us, who doesn't like fish.

Hi I was wondering if any of you would be interested in a copy of The Caledonian Kitchen personally signed by Hans in return for a donation to the charity Action Duchenne? We have had celebrity book signings recently and the fans of one of the actresses, Simone Lahbib, are making larger donations than the recommended £10 for copies of the book signed by her. www.thecaledoniankitchen.co.uk/book_sign.htmlI can arrange for books to be signed if I receive offers that would make it worthwhile for me to ship books down to England and transport them back. The donations will be going direct to research as the charity has just agreed to fund the latest drug development for Duchenne Muscualr Dystrophy. www.actionduchenne.org/viewarticle?news=20If I get enough interest and this goes ahead, donations can be made on the following page. www.justgiving.com/caledonian_kitchen/Please email me with your interest and suggested donation at info@thecaledoniankitchen.co.uk Kenny
