We all need it, right?
A small reflection: every time I open this forum, I think it's a lovely place. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to ''speak'' with people from all over the world. That's just nice!

Very best wishes for the New Year to all. Year of the Dragon is supposed to be auspicious for me as I was born in the year of the Dragon. We'll see.
I read back through the earlier posts of this thread and see that much of what I wrote this time last year applies equally this year. 2011 got off to a really bad start round here and some pretty dreadful things were happening worldwide.
Of course some positives also, Arab spring, Occupy movements etc but I guess that's true for any year.
I want to thank you all for supporting the site and the forum during what's turning out to be an extended quiet period, and none more so than the inimitable Gg whose dedication, warmth and generosity is an unspiration to us all. Thanks heaps, buddy.
So lets start 2012 in a positive frame of mind and hope it brings peace, health and contentment to us all.

Well I am a little late in posting my holiday good wishes (to be honest - I still haven't sent my Christmas cards!), but as the saying goes..."better late than never"!
So, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone. I hope that everyone had a safe and happy holiday season and that 2012 brings good things to you and your families!

Not too late until March, I say! I have a friend who sends out "New Years" cards. I usually get it at the end of January!

Yeah...I actually started doing that also with the New Year's cards. I make mine a newsletter with a bunch of photos of our yearly activities. I've received good feedback from family and friends. They have said that they really liked getting something in the New Year. It was really had to get into the holiday spirit in my part of Canada. We are actually still waiting for winter to start.
