I'm in Blackpool at the moment on a dance weekend. Had a great cha cha class this evening and brilliant Ballroom and Latin American showcases with the stars of Strictly and the British champions. Also found another three songs to add to my iPod from their performances. Just made me realise I want to marry a man who can dance, something so attractive about it!

Hate hot cross buns, I think it's because we had to make them once in school and ours weren't cooked properly so we all ended up ill. No meat today either.

Laura. Regarding the hot cross buns, I can see why that would put you off them.

Finally watched the film "Romancing The Stone" after reading Gg's comments about it in another thread. Not a bad film all in all.

I read today that my home county (Derbyshire), has once again been invaded by a major film crew. Filming started last month for the costume drama Jane Eyre. I mention this because Han's co-star in Deathwatch Jamie Bell is in it.

Another version of Jane Eyre? Really? I'm interested beacause is one of my favourite books!
Do you know who plays Jane?

I've never actually read the book of Jane Eyre, but I have seen an adaptation of it made by the BBC, which was really enjoyable to watch.
The actress who will be playing "Jane" is the actress currently starring as "Alice", in the new Tim Burton film, "Alice In Wonderland".

Went in to Toronto yesterday to see Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein musical. Very funny. Probably not something I should have taken my 8 year old son to see, but being his first time at the theatre he was more interested in where the spot lights were coming from and the technical side of the stage set ups. Which was very good considering there was a fair bit of swearing and a lot of sexual inuendo. Bought him gummy bears and popcorn too, so that really occupied him for a bit as well. Thank goodness for junk food. This was the first production though that I have ever seen where the actors were having a really hard time keeping it together. They were ad-libbing a fair bit (from what I could gather anyway) which was making them crack up. It was pretty funny to see. Tons of fun and a great production!

I went to see the musical Blood Brothers tonight. It's about the sixth time I've seen it but even though I know every song and every line and know exactly what is coming it never fails to make me cry. Met the cast afterwards as well which is always good. So excited to see a play called Canary next Friday which is about gay relationships in 60s, 80s and now. Ryan Sampson from After You've Gone is in it which to be honest is the only reason I booked but the play itself should be brilliant.

HEY! saw blood brothers on broadway, long ago now, but I would be curious if the Phoenix's staging is different. I kinda of love the commodations made to stage work when it crosses the pond, in either direction. I'm confused about CANARY though, I'm working in London at the end of May and we thought we were getting in on the first week by booking on the 24th? Confused... at any rate I want a full review -- we're traveling for a screening (of a film) with relevant subject matter so I am really curious. NEVER apologize for seeing theatre over and over and over again -- at least not to me -- it's kind of my MO. Ask me how many times and in how many countries I've seen "Billy Elliot" (of course that last time was really about my date ) or West Side Story, or Miss Siagon, or Les Mis, or... you get the picture... or how many states I have performed Gypsy in or... sounds like you're my kind of girl!!!!

I saw it at the Phoenix Theatre years ago with school. But I live near Liverpool which is where the play is set so I saw it in the Liverpool Empire. Nothing like seeing that musical in its home town!
Once again I'm seeing Canary at the Liverpool Playhouse, that's the first place it's going to with the tour.
I'd live in the theatre if I could!!
