I've just watched this for the first time and was absolutely blown away. I have to agree with others that one of my favourite parts was when he was outside the window jumping up and down, so cute! The whole film was just amazing, beautiful, funny, sad and heart breaking. Like Hans said, a good piece of work never just makes you feel one thing, it's like a rollercoaster of emotions and it really was with this film. Ahh, I'm just so amazed by it, I'll have to watch it again soon.

Do you believe me if I tell you I have not seen this movie yet??? Living in Mexico is not very good if we talking about Hans movies on dvd because he is not very famous here yet  I only have 5 or 6 films of him on dvd |

We must get you a copy somehow. In the meantime there are a few clips on Youtube which you no doubt have already seen.
I can never figure out why this film didn't get an intenational release - there are so many worse films which do.

I loved this movie so much. I didn't see the ending coming at all, which is good.

I love this film I like the bit wwhen he falls out of the tree and by the swimming pool when he tells sophie that he's limping because he fell two years ago, but my favorite favorite bit is on new years eve when sophie walks into the school as a guest dreamy |

I need the help of you native English speakers out there: ca. 1 hour into the film, in the scene where Jeno confronts Maestro Weigel about his Jewish identity, I am certain - though I could be wrong, Jeno says: "According to my parents I am." Yet the English subtitles of my Korean DVD say "According to my pants I am." That would make sense too...  Now, what is it? Let me add something a little bit off topic. When I first saw Old Baron Blau I thought: but this is Mr. Boffin! I loved this character in the Charles D!cken's adaptation Our Mutual Friend, where Anna Friel played too. This actor, Peter Vaughan, also appeared in Les Miserables.  love the freckles |

It is 'According to my pants' I think, I'm pretty sure it is, at least that's what I thought it was anyway :-)

I'm now in the process of re-watching all the films for a second or sometimes third time and every time some little things pop up which I overlooked in the first viewing, when I simply wanted to know how all will end and will it end happy? I will have to post on the other movie threads in the next days and weeks... |

i'm back from my festival now and was able to watch that scene with the italian subtitles and they read...
